Nice view but poorly maintained
Aug 2019
The view from the tower was nice, however the price was high for what you get. The building is very deteriorated and needs an urgent renovation. We didnt go to the restaurant because we were told that it was closed at the time we were there, although the opening hours said it was opened...

In summary, its a very nice location but it is really a shame how poorly maintained it is and therefore makes you question if it is really worth it...

Expensive mistake
Oct 2018 • Family
We wanted tea and cake but BEWARE - BOOKING IS ESSENTIAL. So we ended up paying 24 EUROS for a short ride in a lift to a STATIONARY viewing platform (ONLY THE RESTURANT REVOLVES). The view is ok but not worth the money. MAKE SURE YOU BOOK IF YOU WANT TO EAT. I think it would still have cost us 24 Euros to get to our table, which is a rip off. There are no guides to explain the view or anything else to explain the high entry charge. Avoid.

Nice view

It 's a really nice experience to see the skyline from the Tower
A quick lift takes you at the restaurat where you can have a complete meal or only a coffee with a slice of cake.
The upper of the Tower turns round slowly and you can enjoy Mannheim, Heidelberg and the nearest cities.
The lift costs 7.00 Euros, for student and child 5.00 Euros.

Interesting view for locals, high prices
Mar 2018 • Couples
Seeing all of Mannheim and its surroundings from up above is definitely a nice expirience for locals, but I can't say if the view is similarly fascinating for tourists. The prices for the elevator and the cafe are pretty expensive.
The cafe is proudly old-fashioned and references Vienna's traditional coffee house culture, so be prepared to be offered Schlagoberst instead of whipped cream.
When I was there, all the cakes were made with gelatin, so I wouldn't describe the cafe as vegetarian friendly, although they might have vegatarian dishes on their lunch/dinner menu.

High in the sky, the views are not as good
Sep 2017 • Business
The fernmeldeturm is nearly 160m high and houses a viewing gallery at the top where you can see the city of Mannheim. The views are not as good as some of the other old cities of Germany. The rotating restaurant serves a 7 course meal at 37 euros which I found expensive. The entry fee is 7 euros to the viewing gallery.

The view from the top is amazing. Also if it's your birthday you can get up for free, just show a valid ID and you can save 7€!

great view
Apr 2017 • Solo
It was a cloudy day with some short showers but also with sun. It turned out to be also a good day to get a great view over the city and enjoy a very quiet stay at the TV sightseeing deck...having it all for yourself. The entrance fee is 7euro and is paid directly at the lift service guy. The sightseeing deck is 4m below the restaurant. It is said, that the restaurant is often quite busy and its best to book a table there. In case you do just want to enjoy the view, just get there. I was really lucky, because there were no people at all...everybody perhaps thought on such cloudy day the view isn't that stunning...but it still was fantastic.

Excellent views of Mannheim
Sep 2016
For 5 Euro you can enjoy the best views in Mannheim. It it's a 360 degree unblock view of both the downtown, Wein and Bergstraße. The lift takes a minute or two. On the floor one stairs up there is a revolving restaurant.
