Better then the Mercedes museum

I personally prefer this museum to the Mercedes one. It is much smaller so you don't get completely exhausted by the end (still expect to spend 2-3 hours here)

The building is a stunning architectural statement before you even get off the U-Bahn! Inside, there is masses of circulation space and the exhibition basically spirals up through this remarkable space. Things are laid out in basically historical order, so it starts early in the development of the motor car and ends right up-to-date, Lots of gleaming, and historic, cars... More

My wife is not at all car minded but she wanted to see every exhibit. The layout is logical starting with the 19th century and coming up to the minute. All the exhibits were beautifully presented and clearly labelled. The cars are mostly painted in vivid primary colours against a neutral background so it is almost impossible to take a bad... More

I saw both the Mercedes and Porsche museums on the same day. One museum cost 10Euro, had free parking and I wish I had more time to stay. The other museum cost 12 Euros with parking but only took me about 45 minutes to walk thru. Although I love Porsches (and have owned two), the museum is average, I saw... More

Even if you're not a diehard Porsche fan the museum is still worth an afternoon visit. The history of Porsche told through the actual cars.

If you are short of time and only have time for one Museum, make it Mercedes. I personal did not find Porche very engaging. It has to be said I am not a car enthusiast. Mercedes however did hold my attention. Also the cloak room was full so I had to keep my coat with me. As it was -... More
