Fascinating history trip into the past. About a 45 minute tour in German (they provide an English paper with main facts on it) but it was still great. Can take pictures and the museum was fantastic. Spent as much time there as in the tour!

Interesting tour. Written information in English to accompany tour. Good value salt products available in shop. But, you have to keep small kids away from moving machinery.

We came to Bad Reichenhall for other reasons and weren't aware of the Salt Museum. What an interesting history to learn about. We don't speak German, but they gave us a printed sheet in English with the tour translation. The guided tour goes into all parts of the old salt works. Lots of steps, lots to look at. If you're... If you don't speak German you miss a lot I think it would've been better to go to Berchtesgaden for a tour. But if you are staying in Bad why Reichenhall it is very easy to get to

This is a well kept building with a little shop inside where you can purchase a variety of salt products. The huge and historical machines catapult you right back in time. A nice little attraction to visit if it's raining or you don't want to go far.

Although tour was only in German we were given comprehensive notes in English. Tour lasted almost a full hour and plenty of opportunity was given to take photographs.Tour ended in Museum and from here allowed to take as long as one liked. It was all in all an excellent visit

Very clean area, well administrated park with life music during summer week-ends and sun beds that you can move from the sun to a pleasant shadow of a tree. Very nice services

Nice site to visit at any time - you can also just relax in the gardens, eat, have ice-cream or shop for artistic goods for painting etc.

The Alte Saline or Salt Museum was much more than I expected. The mines below and the intricate, still operating, machinery from the distant past are both amazing and presented in a visually interesting way. We visited on a rainy day when outdoor touring didn't seem like a good idea, and were pleasantly surprised at how much we liked the... More

Having read about it we wanted to see it and buy the famous salt and some of their products. It was worth the visit.
