Our tour guide had been incredible knowledge of the area. It was interesting to learn the history of how the Eagle's Nest came to be, and that it was not Hitler's idea to build it. It was Boorman's birthday gift to Hitler, and Hitler rarely used it. Our guide brought history to life through his stories. It's also important to... More

We had the most helpful, clear, informative guide we have ever had for such a tour - her name is Amy. We left punctually in a coach with very simple headphones to hear Amy. She explained every possible detail for the whole time about the town, the whole history of Obersalzburg and Eagles Nest. We were all enthralled and really... More

The tour was informative pointing out where buildings had been located at we went up the hill. Going through the bunkers with a guide I'm sure was better than doing it on my own just reading information. We were there on a clear day and had great views. We just caught the bus back to Salzberg. Many people miss it.

With excellent guides, you will find out about the places the the people who had such a sinister effect in the world. You will see the places where Hitler, Eva Braun and his close collaborators planned the 2nd world war. From the Eagle's next on the top of the mountain, to the Berghof bunkers it is an amazing tour,

We booked the private history buff tour in late September. Our guide Jim picked us up at Hotel zum Turken where we were staying and begun the tour right away. Explaining the history of the Hotel as well as the back story on Hitler, the area and the Berghof. He had a tablet full of pictures and showed us around... More

I really wanted to give this 5 Stars... If you're carless, you could visit all these Nazi sites on your own for half the cost by using the local bus system, but this tour gets takes the stress out of figuring out the bus schedules, and gives you a good looking and knowledgeable gentleman of a tour guide, whom I... A four hour trip. The guide was a nice guy called James and he was incredibly knowledgeable about the subject matter. It was the way he was so fluently able to put across his knowledge that made the tour so interesting and ones attention never wavered once during the whole 4 hour experience. Overall a very interesting, exciting and educational event.

This is a must stop while in Berchtesgaden or surrounding areas. First, if a clear day (and not a cloud in the sky when we visited) the views are amazing. You can see Alps for miles and miles. The solid brass elevator and tunnels are spectacular. You can also go to the top and hike down the mountain. If we... More

Amazing views, and felt strange going up inside a mountain in a lift that Hitler had used. Lovely restaurant at the top now, good hot chocolate. Tour guide was very knowledgeable and amusing. Great way to spend 5 hours.

We booked this tour in advance, not really knowing what to expect, but interested in a trip up into the Alps during our stay in Salzburg. After taking the public bus from Salzburg, we met tour owner David Harper at the TI, where he informed us that he would be our guide that day as one of his guides had... More
