If you love castles, this is a must see. Strange history, built by a very strange man. King Ludwig never lived to see his dream completed but at least Walt Disney liked it! The tour I booked from Munich, an office close to the bus station. It cost fifty euros for a day which included the small but beautiful Linderhof... More

Two days before you plan to visit, reserve your tickets as the line at the castle is extremely long. We booked the 1:55 English tour which worked out very well with train schedule In. Munich we purchased a group Bayern Train ticket that was god for the entire day and caught the 9:52 train to Fussen. When you get to... More

Amazing scenery and a beautiful castle. The staff at the ticket office are superb. I wasn't paying attention when I made my reservation online and I showed up a day early. They changed them out for me with no fuss. My kids loved walking through the castle and getting photos in front if it.

Beautiful castle and area. The Queen Mary bridge on the way up to the castle that is the best place to take pictures of the castle. You must make reservations in advance in order to get into the castle and no pictures allowed inside but the walk up is steep so take the bus up to the foot of the... More

Get here early!!! We came in February on a Tuesday morning and by the time we came back down around noon the lines were insane. The tour itself is maybe half an hour since only 1/3 of the castle was completed by the time king Ludwig died. There are LOTS of stairs. Dress appropriately. It's an absolute must see!

A very nice castle that was build on top of a hill. Worth visiting this castle which has inspired Walt Disney to create the Magic Kingdom. Visited the castle during winter. We have to walk all the way up because it was slippery and no vehicle was allowed to drive up the hill except the horse carriage

Neuschwanstein is optimized to be a money making machine and it does that very well! For my taste I felt cheated paying 13 euros to go on a 30 min audio tour where the group was herded from one room to another like a flock of sheep. I would have liked to spend more time in each room. The audio... More

You get tickets & reservations for a specific time. 30-minute personal audio tour. What I liked Fairy-tale castle. What I did not like 1. It was drizzling and there was a big queue for bus. Unlike Swiss attraction where you don't have to wait, we had to wait at the bus stop for quite some time. We had to travel... More

Worth the train day-trip from Munich. Buy a Bayern ticket (that will allow you roundtrip train as well as Bus transport when you arrive) if traveling from Munich. Build in enough time so that you don't need to be rushed (don't forget to buy your castle tickets online ahead of time) and allow yourself time to hike all around the... More
