I have been to Neuschwanstein twice, once in August of 2009 and more recently in January of 2017. The castle is beautiful in both summer and winter and the English guided tour is very informative. Be prepared for a walk as the horse carriage and bus do not take you all the way to the castle. Also be advised that... More

These castle blew our minds! Looking into the fantasy of a man with unlimited wealth, and creativity. Both castle feature inquiry perspective on royalty, class and the inter workings of the old elite. The tours were well paced, and provided great entertainment. The views from the castles and the surrounding areas will leave you breathless!

We took a day trip from Munich to see Neuschwanstein. I would rather have stayed closer to Schwangau to be able to see more, but this is all we had time for. To get there from Munich: 1. If you want to go inside the caste, buy your reserved tickets online at least 2 days before you want to go.... More

The history of king Ludwig II also known as "Mad king" is always fascinating. I have visited all of his castles. It is my third visit and each time it looks completely different. The view of the castle varies based on the season and it resembles a location from a fairy tale. One can imagine how much the king was... More

Beautiful Fairy-tale-like castle. Tour is needed to get inside the castle, some groups get too crowded. Tour lasts about 45 min, it's historical and very informative, great for any age. View from the top is breathtaking!

It is a long trip from Munich and you do have to make a small climb to get there, but it is worth it. We managed to get on a tour, even though we hadn't booked (not exactly high season). We got on the last tour of the day. Departed from Munich around 12 pm.

Such a beautiful part of Germany and even better when it is snowing. Castle is spectacular and the guided tour was enjoyable.

This castle is absolutely incredible and the history behind it makes it even more fascinating. I recommend you take a walk up the hill that leads it to it (it takes 20-40 minutes depending on your pace) and get there a few minutes ahead of your tour time so you can take pictures and enjoy the scenery. Tours are very... More

We visited the castle beginning of January 2017 and it was a cold snowy day but the wait was worth it. What is disappointing is that you see only 25% of the castle since it is unfinished. After Ludwig's death all further construction was stopped.

I was a bit worried if this place could be a tourist trap because of its price & several restrictions but it turned out a great place to visit after all. Undoubtedly the exterior is beautiful. Once inside, it's a beautiful mixture of old design with modern (at that time) technology such as central heating - it's really a shame... More
