Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Pros: It was very clean and staff were friendly. The walk is perfect for families and there were a lot of places to have a rest if you were tired. Loved the park at the end!
Cons: the shop is very expensive and it is pretty loud when it is more crowded- choose times to visit early morning or late afternoon, when there are less people.

Really nice and very chill aquarium with various types of fishes. Do recommend to visit, specially with kids. Staff seem to take good care of the fishes.
All though not all of the signs have english translation, so for those who like to read the sign and can’t German, might need to take their translator with.

The kids were so excited to see the sharks and there was even a picture with a beluga but since it was in German only, we only realised that the beluga whales were only on video with a short clip with their life story. The indoor lighting was poor, the sharks very small in size. Just to keep it short and clear, NOT A VALUE FOR MONEY place to visit.

We paid 32 euros for two persons and it took us about half an hour to see everything, take pictures, have a look in the gift shop...
The whole place is very small and might be fun for small children, but if you're an adult looking to spend some time in an aquarium, this is not the place.

TIP 1 : Buy yourself the Express Ticket online, while quite a bit more expensive you save yourself quite a bit of waiting time
TIP 2: Ask your kid to go to the potty before you enter (as the only restroom is at the entrance/exit) and once you are in it's a one way street
TIP 3: No need to plan for longer than 1 1/2h even when walking slowly
TIP 4: Bring your own food

I absolutely hate giving negative reviews but unfortunately this deserves it. It could be SO much better with better management and thought about just who they are dong this for - the fish, or the people who pay admission! Hardly anything in English which, when you consider this is supposed to be a major attraction leaves me somewhat dumbfounded! Staff were not helpful and seemed unfriendly. I tried to make the most of it with my 3 Grandchildren but we left very disappointed. Save your money and go to the Dino museum instead - it's incredible - a bit like Jurassaic Park; the children loved that.

Not really much to complain about what sea life they have or don't have (selection very limited in comparison to aquatic life that can be found at many of Germany's zoos) - but the aquarium is built underground. It is dark and cramped with extremely narrow areas, practically single file. Please remember many German people cannot find the patience to wait in line. People with disabilities will have a very hard time to maneuver through the exhibits. With kids running around - this is pure chaos. There is also no where for people to sit except towards the end around an open pool. Then the toilets were not maintained at all - no toilet paper or sanitizer. Not much room here either for people to wait in line - which also happens with kids who need a bit more time. This was quite disappointing and far too expensive - would absolutely not recommend.

I've been to a lot of aquariums in my life and Sea Life has some definite pros and cons.
Pros:
* I thought the tanks/habitats were nicely designed. Most of the time you could actually peer down into the tank or look from the side to see under water. That was cool. The habitats were also thematically interesting.
* I liked that most of the exhibits were child-height, allowing my toddler to enjoy them walking and from her stroller. But keep an eye out--some are tempting splash pools for toddlers!
* I thought it was cool that they had loaner step-stools for little kids to experience the exhibits--very thoughtful and a first in my experience.
* Some interesting species that were new to me
Cons (minor):
* The place is small, as are some of the exhibits. I felt there was no "must see" or signature exhibit. No wow factor.
* The touch pool was rather lame, with plastic animals--I've seen much better executions
* The only bathrooms (yep, just one set!) are at the entrance/exit. You have to navigate the tiny gift shop to get there, tough with kids as we all know! So with kiddos, go when you get there.
* My toddler usually loves going to our local aquarium. I noticed she was less excited and engaged with this one, but that may be a jet-lag issue.
I think the exhibit information cards had English translations, but to be honest, I didn't look. My toddler was buzzing through quickly. There are people presenting exhibit information, but all talks/performances were in German (as expected).
The admission was comparable to US aquarium prices, but a bit steep for what they had. (I didn't see the value.) An adult admission will set you back €15.95, but you can prepay online and save yourself a couple Euro per head.

This isn't a very impressive aquarium and it's definitely not worth going at the standard price. Sometimes you can get 2 for 1 coupons in the newspapers and this makes the price more reasonable.
There are a few exhibits but it's not very big. It's good for a weekend afternoon to see some fish for 2-3 hours but don't expect too much. Definitely avoid if you have to pay the standard price.
