Interesting Cultural market

Various marquees with stands selling all manner of crafts and gifts. Usual mix of food stands. Not really a Christmas market, but worth a visit.

With my German friends we started off on the 'Cyclers'/ 'Cyclists' or Radfarhers; 60:40 lemonade/light beer. Once the paced was judged, I went onto the 'straights' and then the fun began with eating the chickens, massive pretzels and a soft German cheese dip type thing (actually quite nice). I kept avoiding buying a novelty hat but the highlight was my... More

Three months after the UK voted to leave the EU we headed off to Oktoberfest, with maybe a little trepidation about the welcome. We needn't have worried in the least. The welcome was as warm as the sunshine, the beer as cool as...well, a lot cooler than the ledehosen! Lots of beer, lots of really interesting conversations with new friends... More

Tourist information: say die Wiesn, not der Oktoberfest, otherwise you'll basically have "tourist" written across your forehead. Die Wiesn is really one of the most awesome parties I've ever visited. Although it is clearly a money-making machine, it still manages to feel genuine and authentic. Also people seem to just be looking for a good time. I did not see... More

Crowd there is so amazing, suitable for lovely german hospitality. Music so good. Even if we did no tknow words we ended up singing along. Very colorful and traditionally dressed crowd. Kind of takes someone back in time. Plenty and cheap food options. Activities fun even if not great. We attended on last day. Wish had been there for more... More

Excellent way to experience our 1st time at Oktoberfest on October 1st of this year. We started the morning meeting at Marienplatz. From there we stopped for a beer and sausage breakfast the on to Augustiner Brau the largest beer garden in the city, and finally to our reserved Table at the Hoffbrau Tent for Oktoberfest. Our guide was great... More

Prepare yourself for the most claustrophobic, beer-soaked, raucous, amazing experience. If you don't have tent reservation tickets, be prepared to arrive early to stand in line. Once inside you will see it all...lederhosen, table dancing, and beers galore.

I brought my brother to Oktoberfest to celebrate his 30th birthday and it was one of the best decisions I've ever made! It's an amazing experience with an incredible atmosphere and never a dull moment. I'm now in love with Lowenbrau beer!

Oktoberfest is one of the world's most iconic experiences. I visited this year for the first time. The weather was rainy so we weren't able to enjoy the grounds and all activities as fully as if it had been beautiful weather. But we very much enjoyed the food, music, beer and the tent atmosphere. I loved the people watching and... More
