Very beautiful church just southeast of the bustling Marienplatz. I really liked the interior entryway arched features. I had just come from Rome - another city full of beautiful churches - and this one helped Munich hold its own.

Sparse on the outside, the inside is a gorgeous Rococo church. If the sun is shining the colors are even more impressive. Stop in- it's free.

The Church of the Holy Ghost or Heiligeistkirche is located between Marienplatz and the Viktualienmarkt. It is a large counter reformation church in Bavarian Baroque style. It is more restrained in its architectural expression than many others.

The outside is relatively unassuming for a church. But going inside, I was blown away. I compared it to cake icing. It was delicate, lovely coloring, and just beautiful inside.

It's one of the oldest churches in Munich but what you see these days is a result of renovations in 18th and 19th century. It's better not to judge it by facade - the interior of the church is just wondetful !! You'll see beautiful frescos, stucco decorations, paintings and sculptures. High Altar is gorgeously decorated and there is also... More

Although somewhat plain, this church has a beautiful interio with great ceiling and wall murals. Not the best church in Europe, nevertheless, this is worth a few minutes of your time.

This church is located next to the Viktualienmarkt. When you enter the church from the side, you will see a beautiful statue of Pieta. The interior is nicely decorated and the alter looks very grand.

Only few steps from the New Town Hall and St.Peter church, Holy Ghost church is one of the nicest church in Munich. The façade is built in a neobaroque style. In the interior there are many nice frescoes and nice stucco decorations. The church is enough large. I think that the church do worth a visit for any tourist who... More

Happened to be near Marienplatz when the Les Colombres installation was being exhibited at the church. We came at night and I must say that the experience was absolutely phenomenal. The paper doves, together with the changing lights and the holy atmosphere transformed the church into an ethereal, mystical place. I felt like I was in a trance, sitting there... More
