The square of the King in Munich is beautiful. It pleases the eyes, it has harmony and natural beauty in the middle of the urban metropolis. But what is directly visible in the main part of the square is only part of the story. There...More

Museums in Munich are almost free on Sundays.. I only paid €2 for two museums.. the only thing I didn't like about these museums is that although the building is so huge, the displays are so few. It is a nice place to sight see...More

We visited at the same time as the Never Again poppy display was out across both sides of the road - a display to highlight the absurdity of war. It was lovely to see that the significance of the poppies has come to Germany -...More

The square here is not just the Gateway with Greek mottos and lots of columns, but also the 2 antique museums (Glyptothek with statues and antique art museum with Greek vases and jewellery) on either side. What a wonderful setting! .

Enjoyed the museum and really enjoyed the historical value. Wasn't really busy and guessing it was because of Oktoberfest.

This area is instantly recognisable to anyone familiar with the infamous Munich agreement. It was signed in what is now a university building. So however impressive the architecture remember what happened here in 1938.

If you didn't know the historical significance of this site, you'd walk right by without giving it a second glance. I suggest so some reading beforehand in order to fully appreciate the area where you are standing. Worth a stroll by for sure.

I visited on a summer afternoon on my own, without a tourguide. The more of the site's history you're aware of, the more you'll get out of it. Be advised, especially if traveling solo, that there are homeless people staking out the center building and...More

Large plaza surrounded by three beautiful buildings built in the greco-roman style. Two of these are actually ancient Greek/Roman museums one featuring statues and the other historical antiquities and artefacts. Tickets are not expensive and grant access to both museums. Other than that, it is...More
