This was our second of three tours with Mikes Bikes tours. Visiting Neuschwanstein Castle was like stepping into a fairytale. The majestic architecture against the backdrop of the Bavarian Alps left our family in awe. Exploring the interior was a journey through history and fantasy. Before the beautiful hike to the castle, we had a lake bike ride that offered a serene escape into nature. The crystal-clear waters mirrored the sky, creating a tranquil atmosphere. Cycling along the picturesque paths, surrounded by lush greenery, was blissful. It was a perfect balance of cultural immersion and outdoor adventure. Neuschwanstein and the bike ride around the lake created memories that will last a lifetime. Our tour guide, Tyler, kept us on schedule and provided in-depth history during the bus ride, bike ride, and up to the castle, preparing us for what would be an amazing adventure. He provided many tips and tricks to maximize our castle tour and made this excursion memorable.
We highly recommend this tour offered by Mike Bike Tours.

We highly recommend this tour. We selected to tour the Hohenschwangau Castle instead of doing the bike ride, and were very happy with our choice. Our tour guide while on the bus and hiking up to Neuschwanstein was Tyler and we really enjoyed his historical knowledge. He kept the group together and organized, which was nice since we packed a lot into one day! The scenery out the bus window was beautiful.

I can’t imagine a better way to see the castle. Our guide Tyler gave us information not included in the state tour and it enriched the experience significantly. We got to enjoy a bike ride to take in the gorgeous landscape and even a lake visit with a surprise opportunity to swim! Our assistant guide Karina was warm and hospitable. Assistant guide Nassar was at the ready to keep us safe from crossroad traffic and protect us from potentially swans :) All our guides were multinational/multicultural and the information they shared really enriched our amazing experience. Don’t miss this tour!

Our visit to Neuschwanstein Castle with Tyler was awesome! Tyler was able to provide so much history and the bike tour around the castle was beautiful. We got lucky with a small group of 7 and Tyler took us to extra / different spots we wouldn’t normally be able to do with a larger group. I cannot wait to recommend this tour to friends who are traveling to Germany later this year.

A co-worker of mine recommended Mike’s Bike Tours and my husband and I couldn’t have asked for a better tour. We met at the shop early (very easy to find) and walked briefly to our transportation to neuschwanstein castle. To my surprise, our guide Tyler gave some history and facts about Munich as we left the city and headed towards the highway which was a nice bonus. He also gave facts as we got closer to the castle. While on the van we were able to pay (in cash/euros) if we opted to take the castle tour. Our guide also provided the lunch menu and took our orders. This was great because when it was time for lunch at the restaurant, the food came quite fast. The food was good and affordable. We got lucky with a picture perfect day and a smaller group which meant a little extra time to bike around and take in the beautiful scenery. The hike up to the castle is pretty tough but it’s nice that there is an option to take a bus for a small fee if you opt out of the hike. Tyler did a great job making sure there was no wasted time. If we got done seeing Mary’s Bridge (Marienbrucke) early he quickly told us what other places we could walk to for great picture spots and sightseeing. The tour inside the castle is pretty brief and done by another party, it was nothing amazing. My husband and I agreed that the tour and hiking done on the outside was the highlight. It was a super long day but felt worth it and the other guides with us were also great and made for an awesome experience. 10/10 recommend.

In 2014 I previously went on this trip but actually couldn’t remember much about it … don’t think it left much of an impression. However, this trip this time was excellent & even cycled it with an AC joint injury to boot!
Trip was smooth in the bus and Tyler, the guide, was extremely knowledgeable not only about the Castle but also the history of Munich as well.
Tyler and his team catered to our every need and made sure we were well fed and hydrated … and this time with snow on the Bavarian Alps, furniture in the Castle and snowball “fights” en route to the Elisabeth Bridge … I will definitely remember this trip with a smile on my face and pure enjoyment in my heart!
Thank you team - you guys rocked our group ;-)

Amazing tour! Our guide Tyler was very informative and concerned that we enjoyed our time! It was easy to find the meeting spot-very near Marienplatz, and we had a smaller group and great weather. Once we got to the area of the castle, we had a wonderful (and fairly flat) bike ride around the lake with a few stops for history and other stories. Our ride was followed by a great lunch (paid separately). We then had a little bit of free time before we went up to castle. Tyler pointed out several spots for awesome photos. We were lucky as the bridge was open, so we had time there as well! With our timed entry to the castle, the tour was seamless! We had a few more minutes and stopped for a special Quark donut -additional cost.

Overall the tour was great! You can pay for lunch with a credit card, but you need euros for anything else that is extra. Also Tyler gives you the choice to walk up the hill or take the shuttle bus (3 euro each one way) to the castle.
I highly recommend the tour with Mike’s Bikes and Tyler is a great guide!

The trip was always on my bucket list. We missed the original tour because we were 10 minutes late. I was able to reschedule for the next day. The bus left 20 minutes late, and waited for passengers. The tour guide was the worst I have ever experienced. She scolded and yelled at some of the passengers. She was very condescending to us. I am unable to think of her name but she had been doing this tour for 17 years and was training a new person. I have never experienced anything like it.

PLEASE NOTE - THIS IS NOT OUR TOUR COMPANY VALERIE - Thank goodness this did not happen in Amsterdam or the heading of your review may have taken on a whole new meaning........ For the record, THIS DID NOT HAPPEN ON OUR TOUR FOR THE FOLLOWING REASONS - we do not run in January & February AT ALL and we have super cool, male/he/him guide called Tyler and no one on our payroll that is a "Condescending Lady"! So, PLEASE remove your review from our company page & put it where it belongs, so the other company may have choice words with their guide and perhaps something will come of this bad review.... Naturally we have asked Viator and they have said they will not remove it as you did not leave the name of the company or the guide. Pity. Wishing you better luck on your next travel adventure.

I give this experience 5-stars across the board. The castle and views of the surrounding area including the Bavarian Alps, are absolutely breathtaking. The accommodations were outstanding (very comfortable bus ride with beverages served on board). Our tour guide (Tyler) was fantastic. He was professional and articulated instructions and expectations clearly. He is quite knowledgeable of the regional history and of course that of the castle. He made the trip. During the walking tour of Munich (after we returned from the castle) he showed us several really cool spots and provided some really interesting historical context. Definitely recommend staying for the full tour and not just bailing after seeing the castle. It's worth it.

Fantastic , breathtaking experience
I have never seen this before. The guide was awesome too. I didn’t like those guests that were late and made the group late. There should be a policy like give people 10-15 minutes but no more. The guide was fantastic friendly and knowledgeable
