We thoroughly enjoyed visiting this zoo. Was great to see the animals up and close. The bat cave, while a little scary perhaps, was simply amazing to have bats actually flying around you instead of behind glass. Cafe wasn't badly priced at all - we had a snack and a coffee - perfectly reasonable. Toilets - fine as well we... More

I'm not sure if the caging of animals can ever be considered "kind", but the animals at Munich's Zoo appear to be living the good life. We spent an entire day strolling the vast grounds - and truly enjoyed our time here. The layout of the zoo is such that it never felt crowded.

Munich Zoo is one of the best zoos that I have visited. They have a great division for different animals depending on their habitat. The monkeys and apes, and tropical animals were kept in heated homes. The children's favorite was the grey wolf and the America Buffalo which fascinated them. They liked the polar section but when we reached there,... More

Nice Zoo, with lots of animals and nice clean environment, however as most of our experience in Munich, if you don't speak German, tough luck. its always nice visiting these sort of places with your kids to be able to talk to them about it with a bit more information than you already know but very difficult if the info... Came here while on a short stay in Munich. This was by far the best zoo I have ever been to! The entry price was good and they even give student tickets to non German students which was great as we were on a small budget. There is such a wide variety of animals to see including ones I had... More

So this zoo is quite a way from the center of Munich and you'll have to get a bus or taxi. The area where the zoo is actually really lovely. The zoo itself is awesome and the best zoo I've ever visited. The polar bears were great to see. A lot of little shops to buy food and gifts there,... More

My family of 4 visited this zoo in early January. We all felt it was a great zoo. The animal housings we well done, and the animals looked well taken care of. We saw some animals we hadn't seen before, and we all loved watching the primates in their housing. It was a little cold walking around, but many of... More

This zoo is the best zoo I have ever been to, in the world! The animals were all looking quite happy and moving around and bars / small cages are really not an issue - as my pictures will show the animals are separated by fences and moats so you really get a great look at them. The zoo is... More

What a wonderful place to spend a couple of hours. Despite going in the winter time (they are also open on Christmas Day), the natural beauty was amazing. It is clear from the enclosures that the zoo is well maintained, and the animals really look well taken care of. They have a wide range of animals, which will keep both... More
