Borofsky's 'friendly giant' in front of the Munich Re building is a great plastic worth a closure look.

We stopped to see the Walking Man statue while on a bike tour of Munich. It's hard to believe that the "artist" actually got paid to produce this huge and ugly piece of junk and even harder to believe that the people of Munich actually...More

This huge statue is huge, but rather odd. It reminds me that some people get paid lots of money to create structures that many do not appreciate. If you are within a block or two, you might want to walk over and take a look,...More

Walked past this big statue. The statue is not that special, but if you happen to walk past there, still a funny thing to see. :) There are some benches too, so you can sit down if you feel like it

The big 17-meter high Walking Man statue is visible a short walking distance north of Siegestor, or right outside the Giselastrasse U-Bahn station. Nice Photo-op.

Massive white statue pretty funny to see. Go see it if it's on your way or a small detour (not too far from english garden) besides that, it's probably fine to skip!

Came across this on our way to the English garden as we got out the tube station. It's very large, quite a fun thing to see. Somewhat random.

We first saw the statue during our first few hours in Munich after getting on a "Hop On Hop Off" bus. We then saw it again on our way from the English Gardens. It is an interesting, imposing piece of artwork.

Jonathan Borofsky is famous for his street art, he has several huge statues across Germany and US. His Hammering man is well know worldwide in many cities. This walking man is also one of his works, most probably it is by chance that you meet "him".
