James Burgess was excellent! He arrived at our hotel at 9am and we travelled with him to Dachau. On route he started to cover the history of Hitler's uprising and throughout the day provided us with an incredible insight into the camp, those associated with it and the timeline surrounding its existence. We travelled back together and James was kind... More

Took this trip in June 15. Was just going through old stuff from the trip from Canada and found the card. The experience seemed a bit odd at first. Meet up in a train station and some guy will take you to the camp. Was well worth it! We were able to get as much time as needed to see... More

We had a private tour of Dachau Memorial with Mat Bruffell. We would highly recommend this tour to anyone who is looking for a moving, in-depth, professional and respectful look into this dark history. Mat was an exceptional guide. He not only described the history of the camp specifically, but provided a comprehensive look at the Nazi rise to power/downfall... More

Well worth a visit to pay respects and try to take in the scale of the whole operation. It was a 4 hr tour with an extremely knowledgeable guide at a very reasonable price. Steel yourself for the part containing the crematoria and mass burial sites. Not for the faint hearted. Lest we forget ! X

The tour itself was fabulous. Our guide had so much knowledge about Dachau and included some stories about the people who were there and tried to escape. There is so much history at this site! The tour started in Munich, we took a 20 min train ride to Dachau and then a 10 min bus to the concentration camp. As... More

Patti and I were privileged to have James Burgess as our guide for the Dachau Memorial Tour. We were the only ones to be with him so it was a bonus to have such personal interaction with him. He picked us up at our hotel in Munich at 0900 and we went with him on public transportation to Dachau. We... More

Our tour of Dachau led by James Burgess was intense informative and so worthwhile. He accompanied us on the Metro, shared his knowledge of Munich, guided us on the bus to Dachau itself. HE was very well informed on the camp and what went on there. But it was the passion he communicated to us that was his forte. He... More

James, does an excellent job he knows his history of Dachau and Germany. He explains everything about the Dachau Concentration camp, how the Nazi's rose to power. He knows how to do the tour, he spent about 3 1/2 hours going through the Dachau camp with our group of 4. He picked us up at our hotel, took us via... More

We took away so much from this small group tour to Dachau. James brought respect and professionalism to such a dark period of German history. His knowledge is incredible, for this reason I would never recommend visiting Dachau without a guide. Just listen and forget about taking pictures, instead purchase a book at their book store!

James did an incredible job of stressing the historical importance of this site of mourning, especially in relation to the world we live in today. The amount of knowledge and understanding is what really set James apart from the other tour guides and the average self guided tour.
