Germany's largest city palace that started off as a castle. The construction of the palace began in 1385. Beautiful, ornate rooms rich with history. There is so much to see in this massive palace including the The Hall of Antiquities, which is my favorite. You really won't believe your eyes while exploring some of the rooms. Leave plenty of time... More

Resident Museum is beautiful with Baroque architecture, room decorations and displays of royal collections. Rooms reconstructed after WWII. Definitely worth seeing. Also tour the Treasury which contains the jewels of the Wittelbach dynasty.

This residence of the Bavarian Dukes for centuries & for the Bavarian Kings contains great treasures of art. Do not forget the treasury with the crown jewels and royal crowns & insignia dating back to Queens from the middle ages; famous St.George statue of Lapislazuli, emeralds & rubies.

The museum which is built-in a residence of the former bavarian monarchs is very huge and contains a tone of stuff to view. From the living rooms of the royal family to sculptures, art or the treasury - there's something for every gusto. I'd recommend to bring a lot of time with you, we'd around 2-3 hours to visit the... This hadn't been on my list to visit, but I am so glad that I did. I would recommend seeing both the Residence Museum and the Treasury. The size and grandness of this palace is very impressive, lots and lots of rooms to visit (even though some were closed for renovation) so plan a good chunk of time to absorb... More

We attended a symphony performance which was lovely. Came back to visit the next afternoon. Very well worth spending some time here. Several areas you can choose to see.

Few places can match the opulence of this place: It was almost too much, yet there was an apology that some of the rooms were closed - we could not have taken much more!! You must not miss this stunning palace.

Been to Versailles and the Tower of London. But go and see the Bavarian Royal Jewels and the Residenz Palace in central Munich. You won't be disappointed with the collection of artifacts and old pieces as well as the glittering showcase pieces.

The Residenz Museum is a must see while in Munich. The grounds are beautiful in their own right but the inside is spectacular as well. You are allowed to take pictures inside and 7 euros a ticket inside is worth it. The two rooms you must see are actually halls and are called the Hall of Antiquities and the Baroque... More

The audio guide allows you to decide on your own, what you are interested or not. Good place to visit if you are in Munich.
