    Enjoyed this museum
We did the combination ticket for both the Residence Museum and the Treasury. The residence museum is large, taking about 2 hours. Rooms vary, some are plain and simple, others are very lavish. They do include audio guides in English as part of your admission. We took a break for lunch before going to the treasury, you can also come back another day if you’d wish. Treasury has a number of antique jewels and crowns which are beautiful.

Amazing place, expect to spend 3 hours here!
Amazing for 9 euro fee! Before you go, be sure you have had breakfast or lunch because this place is HUGE! If you get the free audio guide and listen to the entire guide, it will take you about 4 hours to complete the long tour. If you just walk through the property and read the limited signage, it will take 2 hours. We did a combination of both so it was 3 hours. It is 110% worth the fee to see this palace! Some rooms spectacular rooms and I have visited many palaces in Europe. There are about 3 places inside for toilet breaks and also, almost all the rooms have some seats for a break. By the way, you can’t take any purses, bags, backpacks inside. There is a room where they will store them for free. Yes, you can take strollers inside.

    Beautiful items on display
Really enjoyed seeing the crow jewels and decorative items. The palace had a few grand halls. Many of the small rooms had been damaged in WWII and had lost the original splendor. Easy ticket purchase and not too crowded during the busy tourist season.

    Jewellery lovers?
If your love jewellery, then the Treasury is a must! Beautiful crowns with the St George & Dragon being the centrepiece! Fabulous ten rooms to explore and wow at! The rest of the Residence was also memorable with rooms with porcelain, table silverware and another with the huge dining table set ready for its guests. Beautiful...

    Wow, loved it
Wow, so amazing. Lots to see, you will need a few hours. We bought a combo ticket which didn't include the Cuvillies theatre. We headed for the treasury which had incredible crowns and precious items. Room after room of beauty. The audio guide was extremely helpful.

    History buffs needs 2-3 days!
The residenz is a place where one can spend more than a week if he is really interested to know about the royal families. From the outside it doesn't look that big but once you enter it will feel like being lost in a maze. If you're just there to admire and have a look please buy tickets only for Residenz no need to waste money on combo ticket as suggested by others.

    Magnificent
The attraction consists of two separate parts – the Palace, and the Treasury (display of jewellery and artefacts) – separate and combined entry tickets are available. From the outside and the entrance area this place doesn’t look anything particularly special, but inside the opulence on display is spectacular. The Palace features numerous large wings and chapels – with each having its own style it provides variation and leaves you wondering what might be around the next corner. I picked up an audio guide at the start, but soon realised that this repeated much of the information on the boards (in German & English) and wasn’t really needed. In some areas you are given a choice between a long / short route – I choose all the long routes and it took me around 2 hours to complete at a leisurely pace. The Treasury area provides a display of magnificent royal jewellery and artefacts – here there are not so many information boards, and the audio guide is more beneficial. Everything is nicely displayed and arranged, it took me around 45 to go around – although I didn’t spend time looking at everything. Overall, highly recommended if historic splendour is your thing.

    Beautiful palace, worth the visit
Amazing beautiful palace dating back hundreds of years. It is sad that much had to be rebuilt after massive bombings during world war 2. The included audio tour gives excellent information in the rooms and their functions.

    INTERESTING PALACE IN MUNICH
We drove to The Residenzmuseum and parked in their pay parking lot. The palace was the seat of government from 1508 to 1918. We saw the crown jewels, lots of furniture, dishes, tapestries and paintings. We spent 3 hours there and it wore us out with all of the walking and climbing stairs but it was worth the visit.

Rooms were amazing. Artwork is fantastic. Could spend several hours there seeing all the various rooms. The "treasury" where family jewels, etc. were stored was the best part of it!

We visited the palace on Friday at noon. There were not many people and a line for the tickets. The place is quite large, and relatively interesting, especially the treasury.

Excellent museum and site to visit. Audio guides available and there are numerous versions of the tour - i.e. short tour or long tour depending on how much time you have. Much of the building was bombed or damaged during World War II but they've done a great job restoring it to its original glory along with placards in German and English in most rooms explaining the significance of the room, decor, paintings etc.. Entrance is via large square or courtyard on the western side - it's a massive complex so it's easy to get lost when trying to locate the entrance. Take your time and plan for a couple hours at least if you want to truly see it all.

The amount of things to see here if you do the full tour including the treasury will require more than 1-2 hours which is what is recommended here.
The signage is sufficient for everything but the treasury. , There, there wasn't anything explaining what we were seeing and my husband and I wished we'd gotten the audio guide.

First, the duration estimate of 1-2 is wrong if you actually want to listen to the audioguide and read the captions. Between this museum, the treasury museum and the theater (combo tickets to the three are available) I spent more than 4 hours, the majority in this part. I listened to about 1/4 of the audioguide pieces and read a similar percentage of the signage. I listened to a smaller percentage of the audioguide in the treasury. I could have stayed longer but I didn't have the time with other scheduled things that day.

It is a beautiful place with a good audioguide. Give enough time to enjoy it!

It is fascinating how ornate this castle is even though it was bombed during the second World War. It is in excellent condition. I had never seen such ornate living quarters.

Excellent place to visit even in the midst of winter. Although not fully wheel chair friendly but the staff helped us and we managed to see more than 80% of the place.

Could only view it from the outside. The whole area is beautiful! An oasis of calm, the place is a great spot for people watching, selfies / clicks / views and strolling.
