We visited when the Christmas markets were just set up - a wonderful array of wares, food & drink. The side streets provide several shops and restaurants. The buildings and architecture are beautiful. The fact that most of this was rebuilt after WWII makes you...More

This is one of the nicer city centres in Germany that I've walked around, with an extensive pedestrianized area and some nice finds like the covered (Hangman's) bridge and the main squares. Hard to believe that it's an almost total reconstruction post-1945.

Have been to several Xmas markets in Germany and can say that Nuremberg's is up there with the best. The Altstadt is charming, with a large variety of sights and shops. The markets are spread around over several locations, giving plenty of choice.

Cars not allowed in the shopping district. Cafes abound, sausage and pretzel stands everywhere.

Interesting buildings, pity it was almost empty in the streets, although it was a nice evening.
