This church - seemingly caught in the midst of the Reformation movement - Lutheran, but 'Catholic' in style - is a reminder of the histories behind the Protestant movement, and the Catholic origins of Western denominations. St Lorenz Church is a medieval church of the former imperial city of Nuremberg dedicated to Saint Lawrence. It is 15th century building of Gothic architecture located in the heart of the old city. It is dominated by two towers. Definitely worth a visit by every visitor to the city.

This is a huge, beautiful gothic medieval church, just off the main square, right next to Lorenzkirche U-bahn station, logically enough!

It is so sad to see what the carpet bombing in WWII did. It is equally as impressive to see what the citizens of Nuremberg did to bring beauty back to their city. This church shows both aspects of this city so well.
