Was here with my girlfriend to visit the well known Thurn & Taxis Christmas market. We had a great time here, and there are lots of different stands to visit, and different things to experience. We were also lucky that we had a sunny, yet cold, day. Was a terrific experience :) Loved it

Went on tour arranged by TAUCK River cruise boat Savor. Took private bus from boat across river. It was cold and there is an excellent Christmas market inside the grounds of this palace. It is the best Christmas market in Regensberg. The palace tour was spectacular. Very interesting structure and family. Highly recommend.

We have lived in Germany for many years, and I have to say the Weihnachtsmarkt (Christmas market) at the palace in one of the most lovely and romantic markets in all of Germany. Go late in the day (after the sun sets) for the best ambiance - fire baskets and torches burning along the gravel paths, friendly vendors with unusual... More

Such an interesting experience! One follows the climb of the family from step to complex step in the imperial aristocracy. The reason they could climb, was that the mail monopoly brouht in enough money (and connections) to pay for the task expected of the family. Sounds like modern politics! Money comes first! The palace is exquisite yet its opulence can... More

Difficult to locate as no proper signs can be found anywhere in the area. Worth every effort. Four stars out of five as with a little bit of effort and investment visitors can be allowed to roam around and not be tied up by the German speaking guide.

This palace is very well taken care of. We enjoyed this almost as much as seeing the rooms at Schoenbrunn. The family clearly had a great deal of money and spared little expense in building this palace. We had a lovely guide. She would answer our questions in English if we had some. The tours are in German so you... More

We toured the Thurn and Taxis Palace (Schloss Thurn und Taxis) which is also known as St. Emmeram's Abbey as part of a Tauck river cruise. The abbey was built in the first half of the eighth century, but has been updated since then when the Thurn and Taxis families made a fortune providing postal services. The palace has 504... More

This has been my favorite palace visit that I've done in Europe. The palace is actually lived in so it doesn't feel like a museum piece. It's well designed and decorated They only offer tours in German. However, there is an English audio guide that is quite good. Additionally, the tour guide took the time to explain to us (in... We went on the 90 minute tour to get the recording in English, the tour was in German. The english was well done, but the guide must have had some good stories, took at least 3 times as long to tell each of the 17 stations. You cannot get ahead as doors are locked. The palace is beautiful and would... More

We only had time to do the shortened tour, so did not see everything. Entry is only by guided tour in German, but entry price is reduced if you are not German speaking and an English audio guide is provided. Family whose fortune rose due to introduction of efficient postal system. Some stunning, beautiful rooms and then a simple ecclesiastical... More
