Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Take plenty of pictures, it's beautiful. Surrounded by shops and eateries the Townhall Square has beautiful architecture and a lovely fountain. Must see in Augsburg.

Enjoyed Augsburg... It was nice here, and the square, and the buildings and towers that adorn it are worth making the time for to come see...

This is the main square of Augsburg and is also where the city hall is located. The unique part about this big square is the yin and young sign on the floor. Interesting.

The square is typical of so many German squares with cafes and bars and close proximity to the shopping centre. Our visit happened to be on the weekend when the town celebrates the slaying of a dragon - so there was a fair ground in the square and a lot of activity.

The chief attractions of the Rathausplatz are the Town Hall itself, the Augustusbrunnen, and the nearby church. It is a nice open space in the old part of town.

Augsburg's town square is beautiful. No cars allowed there, which make it a nice and relaxing place to hang out. Good variety of restaurants and cafes with decent prices.
The tourist information is also located at the square.
If you're already there, the impressive town hall is worth visiting, too.

My wife and I and another couple went on a 17 days 5 country trip to Europe starting in Germany. We went to Augsburg to visit where I was stationed in the Army 50 years ago. This part of old Augsburg has not changed a bit.A beautiful place, great food in the plaza. An information center is located just to the right. The young lady there spoke perfect English and pointed out places that we needed to see. It's a must see if you are in that area.

Augsburg, Germany is older than God. That's right, this town is older than Jesus the Christ from Nazareth. Relatives of Augustus Caesar founded Augsburg as a Roman outpost 15 years before the birth of Christ. The annual Kristkindelsmarkt in Augsburg is actually better than the one in Munchin. Calmer, more faith-based, and more fun.

This is the city's historic main square where all the locals meet. The Rathaus itself (complete of course with a Rathauskeller restaurant) is a perfect example of Bavarian 17th century architecture. In the square is the fountain with the statue of the founder of the city - Cesar Augustus in BC 15.

City Hall. It's a beautiful building on the outside. But the real Attraction is on the third floor: a huge hall beautifully decorated, several kilos of gold foil covering ceilings and walls, where there are also paintings. About 3 euros. It's absolutely worth it.
