One of the most beautiful towns I’ve ever visited! Smelled like flowers everywhere! Plenty of bars and shops to browse and museums and castle gardens to visit. Even just walking around looking at the beautiful buildings is breathtaking. In the market place you can do...More

It's amazing how a town like this has survived through the centuries. Lovely old buildings, great places to eat and drink, good views from the preserved old city walls and a n exhausting list of photo opportunities. Some great places to eat and drink too,...More

We spent three days exploring this gem of a town, Rothenburg -ob-der-Tauber. Yes, there are tourists (half of Tokyo, at least), yes, there are souvenir shops but despite that there is no denying that the town is exquisite and enchanting and so much better than...More

Reading about it, seeing it on TV or in pictures doesn’t do Old Town justice. Ducking down the side streets is where the beauty and true old town begins. Walking for an hour and a half and we saw everything we wanted and never got...More

The heart of Rothenburg is its touristy streets lined with shops, restaurants, and cafes. Try to be patient of your fellow tourists not paying attention, relax, and enjoy.

An interesting walled town to visit and explore. If you are rushed then the town could be seen in just 3 hours but I recommend you give this place at least a full afternoon if not a whole day, if visiting the various museums, there...More

Rothenburg is a must see if you are traveling along the Romantic Road. The town offers great architecture and a beautiful wall surrounding the central part. There are many nice hotels and restaurants to enjoy and of course, some great German beers.

Love this place a lot! Visited this place with my family of four (2 young kids aged 10 and 7) and we absolutely adored the 5 hours spent there. Reached there early in the morning and took lots of charming photos of the old town...More

My wife and I have just had 2 days here. It is a truly lovely place where they have clearly done their best to preserve the medieval feel of this town. Glorious to simply wander around and peruse the shops (There are a lot of...More

My advice: go as early as possible, to avoid the biggest crowds... It will always be busy, but until 9 is still doable! Very nice old town, explore it in 2h if you have time :)

The Palace in Wurzburg is very impressive, plus it has a very ornate side chapel. The Castle is a very long climb for your buck. The town is a regular town with a nice bridge and some photo ops. Rothenburg ob der Tauber... More
