Beautiful medieval town we visited for the Christmas Markets, although this town I expect is a fabulous year round attraction. Great old medieval buildings all the way through the town into the main square/town Hall. The shops sell quality goods and local produce more than the usual tourist bric-à-brac. The streets were lined with Christmas trees and all stores were... More

Rothenburg is always worth visiting, and the Christmas market is definitely worth seeing. Outside of Colmar, this is one of the nicest markets we have visited.

My husband and I drove up to Rothenburg and fell in love with this Medieval Village. It is so quaint with its cobblestone pathways and very old homes. Shopping is wonderful too and if you want something Christmassy this is the place to purchase it. We did a tour with the town crier and learned a lot about this well... More

We traveled almost three hours to visit this small town and only thing we regret is that we didn't come earlier because one and half day we had for walking through the down town were not enough. We couldn't stop taking pictures and were really amazed. It is so beautiful! We hope to come back soon.

We hit the beginning of the Christmas market. Lots of booths of things geared towards tourists and destined to collect dust. But climb to the top of the tower and you will be treated with an amazing view of the city. The stairs would make a California lawyer salivate...... the Brats were awesome

We are staying 2 nights and had planned a day trip to Nuremberg and decided to hang around here instead. Just lovely to walk around with all the Christmas decorations. The Christmas market is setting up but I'm not sure we will see it open. Lots and lots of shops to go in! Don't forget to look up to see... More

A great place to walk around if one enjoys old architecture and cobbled streets. Pity most shops are filled with similar tourist bait, but I guess it pays the bills.

From the car park outside the walls of this walled medieval town, walk towards its town square. It is like walking back in time with half-timbered houses, church, museums and hotels. Several shops selling Schneeballe. It is strips of dough rolled to form a ball and deep fried. There are the big and the mini size. There is also a... More
