The Marienberg Fortress contains this special little chapel that, upon first glance, almost looks more Moorish, with its rounded building shape and dome. When you are in the Marienburg castle, you shouldn't miss this little church. From outside it is quite simple, but inside you will wonder, there are three beautifully decorated altars.

A visit to the fortress is not complete without a look at this chapel. Simple to behold yet given its design and surroundings it captures the imagination.

The outside of this church , in fact more of a chapel is very simple ; the only thing original about it is that it is round ! But the inside is a striking contrast : there are 3 heavily decorated altars and what seems to be 20 tombs on the floor ! Unfortunatly there was no one to provide... More

Not much to see here so don't be too disappointed but if you're visiting the castle anyway, I 'd say this is worth taking a look.

As renovationworks were going on the church is sometimes opened: with a tourguide, or without one one just has to wait untill it openes again, we waited half an hour and were lucky. Due to this renovation the church was nearly bare, but one can form an idea how it must lokk like furnished. The castle church with striking cross... More
