We didn't have enough time to see everything in the church but it was very interesting with history. While we were visiting a mens choir started singing - it was beautiful to hear.

Leaving the Rathaus and turning onto Domstrasse, you can't miss this imposing cathedral as the street runs right into the front of it. The massive twin towers and the red and white facade are very different and quite simplistic for a cathedral of this Dom's stature. Simple until you enter the church and then to your surprise, it is quite... More

An interesting place for history and architecture lovers. I am sure you will be stunned by the beauty of it. Architecture was amazing as ever and loved the carvings. Easily accessible place. There are plenty of shops around the place too.

Interesting architecture and has some other nice buildings around it. Quite austere inside. Entry fee and I didn't see much info in English.

However, I did take the time to walk around the building. The back of the cathedral is a completely different style from the front. I enjoyed the architecture.

Of course we have visited a lot of churches on our trip through Bavaria. The exterior with the skulls on it was different for me but upon entry the artwork struck me since it's so modern. A big menorah, bigger than I've ever seen in person is inside. A gorgeous altar too. We spent awhile inside not wanting to miss... More

This is a functioning cathedral and worth a visit. I was intrigued by the addition to the Church which is quite different in style and color, which I was told was added so there was a direct line of site to prince-bishop's Residenz on the hill. Like many churches in Europe this one sustained damage during the war and had... More

This cathedral, rebuild after being bombed during the war, is a central spot in Wurzburg. The first thing that strikes you is that it is almost entirely painted white inside. Not much in the way of stained glass, but it has many beautiful sculptures.

The color and shape of St. Kilian Cathedral gets your attention right away. It is quite different from most cathedrals. It has twin towers with a beige facade and brownish brick at the corners. There is a large clock over the main door. It has a beautiful interior. It was damaged during WWII but nicely rebuilt. Its worth a few... More

It's not often you get to see a cathedral that architecturally looks like it's been around for centuries, but hasn't. Bombed to almost nothing during WWII and rebuilt, St. Kilian's gives visitors the chance to see what many old cathedrals might look like without the accumulated years of grime, wear and tear.
