We had the privilege of spending three incredible days exploring Germany with Matt from Berlin Experiences, and it's safe to say that this journey will stay with me forever!
Matt's depth of knowledge in German history was truly impressive. His ability to narrate the stories behind each destination, whether it was Potsdam's palaces, Moritzburg's fairytale castle, Dresden's cultural gems, Meissen's porcelain legacy, or the poignant history of Sachsenhausen Concentration Camp, added a profound layer to our experience.
What stood out was Matt's thorough preparation. He had a tablet loaded with pictures and maps, making every historical account come alive. It allowed us to visualize the past and appreciate the present context, enhancing our understanding of each place.
Beyond his professionalism, Matt's warm and friendly demeanor made the journey even more enjoyable. He's not just a tour guide; he's a great guy who quickly became a friend. His passion for sharing the stories of Germany's past and present is contagious.
If you're considering a journey through Germany, Matt and Berlin Experiences are the ideal companions. You'll not only gain a deeper appreciation for this remarkable country but also have the privilege of making a wonderful friend along the way. This was an unforgettable adventure, thanks to Matt's expertise and camaraderie.

We booked Matt online for a walking tour of the Third Reich and Cold War sights of Berlin. We were not disappointed. Matt is friendly, extremely knowledgable, super attentive to his clients’ needs and flexible. We spent a fascinating 3 hours with him and packed in a lot. There ywas no question to which he didn’t have the answer. I would highly recommend Matt if you want to get under the surface of Berlin with a guide who has a deep understanding of the history of this fascinating city.

My wife Rhonda and I spent 2 days with Matt Robinson covering various highlights of Berlin including The Third Reich, The Cold War and Contemporary Berlin. Matt's knowledge of history is outstanding, and his story telling is fascinating and unique. From the booking procedure, to then meeting Matt at our hotel, the tour organisation was effortless, professional and nothing was too much trouble. Matt was also extremely helpful & considerate of my limited mobility and offered to organise a driver to accompany our tour. We would thoroughly recommend Matt's tours whilst visiting Berlin and I look forward to another visit in the not too distant future.

We had the opportunity to enjoy a private tour with Matt last weekend that included Alexanderplatz, Haus des Lehrers, Haus der Statistik, Cafe Moskau, Strausbergerplatz, Cafe Sybille (Stalin’s Ear), Karl Marx Bookshop (the last scene in the Lives of Others) and lastly a train ride to visit the Stasi HQ. Following this a lovely lunch in the sun at Moabiter Werder.
The tour was amazing, and Matt’s knowledge and thoroughness of the historical facts and events is staggering. Highly recommended, and probably the best tour I have done in any city.

We had a one day whirlwind Berlin tour with guide Jim McDonough. My husband and I have done numerous private tours in many European cities. Berlin was by far the best with Jim.
Jim had to put together an almost impossible itinerary with a number of stops and sites we needed to see to satisfy the historian and architect - my husband! Jim was excellent! Efficient and very well prepared. He brought with him photos of the historical sites to show before & after, photos of many historical figures that made the history so much more interesting. As Americans, Jim highlighted for us our history with Berlin. Smart man, so well educated and personable! (And he graduated from the University of Minnesota).
We highly recommend Jim. A+. Thank you, Matt at Berlin Experiences, for putting us with Jim and making the arrangements. Excellent service!

I am sure there is no one better to experience all the history and fun facts about Berlin than Matt. It was 1st class service since the 1st email, he was so helpful and made it the best ever tour. He makes learning fun. 100 % worth having a private tour. Thanks for everything Matt, the Canadians loved both tours, and thanks to your driver, also the best.

Our gracious tour guide, Matt, a fluent English speaker, with an unparalleled knowledge of German history, took us on an amazing tour of the general sights and historical points of Berlin as well as Sachsenhausen concentration camp, with a stop for an authentic and delicious German lunch. The tours offered by Berlin Experiences are completely customisable and can cater to a plethora of interests – you need only ask.
Matt’s wealth of knowledge that far exceeded our expectations and by the end of the tour Matt was a sanctioned member of our group – it was truly a pleasure. I would highly recommend Berlin Experiences to anyone wishing to have an incredible tour of Berlin!

Our tour was lead by Matt. He is English speaking, having grown up in England and then relocated to Germany. This man is a wealth of knowledge that far exceeds what you would expect on a standard tour. Matt was never at a loss for information when our group of 10 threw questions at him. It is hard to quantify how much he knows, but we were unable to stump him on anything we asked about.
The tour was on a private bus and the microphone and speakers worked flawlessly. I put that in as it is a real pet peeve of mine when the speaker is practically inaudible on these sorts of tours. We got off the bus at several points and Matt had the driver meet us where we would walk to. This was great in preventing back tracking over the same areas already covered and made great use of our time.
Matt recommended a great place for a lunch stop that was authentic German fare and truly delicious.
Matt is passionate about the history, but not one of those who is forcing his opinions or views down your throat. He would give us his take on it and actually encourage we formed our own thoughts. Truly a class act. I highly recommend the Berlin Experience.

My wife and are I pensioners in our seventies, we're not exactly fast walkers. We visited Berlin before and wanted an in depth tour of Berlin with a focus on the Third Reich. Matt showed us parts of the city that are relevant to the story that we didn't know, whilst taking our needs into consideration. Although we know quite a lot on the topic, Matt was more than able to give us a wealth of new information, going into fascinating details.
Booking the tour was also very smooth. From the first email, Matt was easy going and professional, and even gave us a great recommendation for a restaurant for the evening.
