Neighbourhood: Charlottenburg
Breathe in Berlin’s royal past while walking through the gardens of beautiful Charlottenburg Palace, which lends its name to this well-heeled neighbourhood. Here you'll find some of the oldest homes in the city: upper-class apartment buildings with ornate facades and marble-floored foyers line the cobblestone streets. Stroll by sophisticated restaurants, through little parks, or around Lake Lietzensee. Window shop down Kurfürstendamm, the most renowned high-end shopping street in Berlin, where you can find all the big designer names. In the evening, visit one of the old theatres close by Zoo Station which were nightlife hot spots in the 1920s, or dine in one of the many international restaurants around Savignyplatz before heading to other parts of town for a night out.

The Tauentzienstrasse starts from the Breitshadplatz where's the iconic ruined Kaiser Wilhelm Church going eastwards. The street is considered one of the main shopping ones - here's the famous KaDeWe, as well other department stores, Europa shopping center, etc.
Nice sculpture, the Berlin broken chain (read that review) is in the central walking path along the street.

Wide boulevard, with many high end shops, running past KaDeWe shopping center, along Breitscheidplatz and the Wilhelm Memorial Church, on the way to the Kurfürstendamm. Nice walk, lots to see.

So the thing is that many of these coffee places only really know how to make espresso. They may serve filtered coffee, but pays less attention to it, and the result suffers. The black coffee I received, was way to bitter. It was not undrinkable, I've had worse, but not good at all. I too, can make coffee that's not perfect all the time, lacklustre, bland, too weak, too strong. I not only brew it, I roast it myself. The result varies, sometimes very good, sometimes mediocre. But I NEVER make coffee that is too bitter. I don't understand how that is possible, quite frankly, don't you taste your own product? When you charge money for such a low quality cup of coffee, I must tell you: I am never coming back.

This is maybe the main shopping street in Berlin. The famous KaDeWe store is here. You will also find some branded hotels here.

I visited here first to go to the Hard Rock cafe, later returning on the HOHO bus.

Then it was busy and noisy as well. A lot of wedding parties seem to go up and down the road.

There is some nice buildings here.

Tauentzienstrasse is one of the busiest shopping streets in Berlin. Along the street you can find many fancy designers stores and other stores Including, of course, the famous KaDeWe department store. In the middle of the street there is an interesting sculpture, entitled "Berlin", that represents the "broken" nature of the city when it was divided unto East and West during the Cold War

Tauentzienstraße is a wonderful street that is a haven for people who are into their retail therapy.
Besides having Berlin's most famous department store namely KaDeWe there's the massive Europa Center and some great architecture.
There are some interesting pieces of street art here including the wonderful Broken Chain Monument and a bit further down the street you have the World Fountain and on Brietscheidplatz the poignant war memorial Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church .
A great street and well worth checking out.
