While this was once a major shopping area, it is now surrounded by tall and modern looking office buildings. The shopping has mover elsewhere except for a few stores that offer mostly well know brand items. Unless you were to be passing by, I see little reason to bother with a visit here.

This area is a landmark near the mall of berlin and the way to the Brandenburgen Tor, Reichstag and Holocaust Memorial and other nearby attractions. This area is filled with different restaurants in all the streets which keeps it alive during day until night time.

An area of historical significance, and at one time an iconic meeting point, on par with Times Square or Piccadilly Circus. It was completely destroyed during the Second World War, and then divided into two during the Cold War, with the Berlin Wall running through it. It has been completely rebuilt since then, is home to several corporate firms, and... More

At night it's a breathtaking place to be but can get rather crowded. It's easily reached by public transport or foot and contains cinemas, bars and numerous cafes and eating places.

This area was a on-lands-man region before 1989. The area, as the result of alied bombing during WWII, was a complete ruin until 1989. It's hard to believe, within 25 years, the area has been transformed to a trendy modern area attended by many tourists throughout the year. Below are the suggested things you could do in this area: 1.... More

Modern, contemporary Berlin, with state of the art buildings. Weird architectural displays. This area was completely rebuild after the cold war. The Sony building is here. Lots of shops, restaurants etc

Bustling plaza, with many new buildings around, a busy subway station, and some parkland. This was formerly crossed by the Berlin Wall, and therefore the whole area has a very modern feel to it. Enjoy the bustle.

Staying in Charlottenburg

Neighbourhood Profile
Breathe in Berlin’s royal past while walking through the gardens of beautiful Charlottenburg Palace, which lends its name to this well-heeled neighbourhood. Here you'll find some of the oldest homes in the city: upper-class apartment buildings with ornate facades and marble-floored foyers line the cobblestone streets. Stroll by sophisticated restaurants, through little parks, or around Lake Lietzensee. Window shop down Kurfürstendamm, the most renowned high-end shopping street in Berlin, where you can find all the big designer names. In the evening, visit one of the old theatres close by Zoo Station which were nightlife hot spots in the 1920s, or dine in one of the many international restaurants around Savignyplatz before heading to other parts of town for a night out.
