Would not make a trip to Berlin without walking down Kurfurstendamm. Lots of shops, restaurants, hotels, cafes. In warm weather great place for drink or dinner and people watching. Also some great shopping can be done along here.

One of the main shopping arcade in Berlin. Easy accessible by public transport. There are many department stores as we as small and fashion bended shops. When the weather permits it offer excellent opportunity for strolling and window shopping in a clam atmosphere.

You will find nice views and sites like Kaiser Wilhelm Church, KaDeWe and Europe Center and many more. Next to E-Center is Uniqlo Berlin. You will see there plenty of clothes, like warm heat tech -products. Great places to visit.

Have deliberately chosen hotels in this area because of the K'Dam. It's always lively and has good transport links. There many streets off the K'Dam with various shops and restaurants that aren't the Gucci type.

There are new malls, and Friedrichstrasse is attempting a comeback to its pre-WWII status, but the Ku'Damm is clearly the best higher end shopping area in Berlin, with all the classic high end stores from MCM to Gucci, Hermes, etc. Tony area with plenty of nearby options to have lunch, etc.

This street is absolutely irrelevant for those who are not into shopping since it is all about shop windows and tourists walking around. There is one church wirth visit, otherwise all shops. And they were mostly closed on Sunday. Really not worth the trouble.

This is actually the old center of West Berlin and perhaps the most famous street in this part of town. The name also confused with the church, which is actually called the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church. A wide street, filled with all sorts of shops and restaurants, where perhaps the Hard Rock Café is the most famous (and which we... More

Staying in Charlottenburg

Neighbourhood Profile
Charlottenburg
Breathe in Berlin’s royal past while walking through the gardens of beautiful Charlottenburg Palace, which lends its name to this well-heeled neighbourhood. Here you'll find some of the oldest homes in the city: upper-class apartment buildings with ornate facades and marble-floored foyers line the cobblestone streets. Stroll by sophisticated restaurants, through little parks, or around Lake Lietzensee. Window shop down Kurfürstendamm, the most renowned high-end shopping street in Berlin, where you can find all the big designer names. In the evening, visit one of the old theatres close by Zoo Station which were nightlife hot spots in the 1920s, or dine in one of the many international restaurants around Savignyplatz before heading to other parts of town for a night out.
