Have deliberately chosen hotels in this area because of the K'Dam. It's always lively and has good transport links. There many streets off the K'Dam with various shops and restaurants that aren't the Gucci type.

There are new malls, and Friedrichstrasse is attempting a comeback to its pre-WWII status, but the Ku'Damm is clearly the best higher end shopping area in Berlin, with all the classic high end stores from MCM to Gucci, Hermes, etc. Tony area with plenty of nearby options to have lunch, etc.

This street is absolutely irrelevant for those who are not into shopping since it is all about shop windows and tourists walking around. There is one church wirth visit, otherwise all shops. And they were mostly closed on Sunday. Really not worth the trouble.

This is actually the old center of West Berlin and perhaps the most famous street in this part of town. The name also confused with the church, which is actually called the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church. A wide street, filled with all sorts of shops and restaurants, where perhaps the Hard Rock Café is the most famous (and which we... More

Excellent shopping opportunities here for everyone. Typical stores that you can find anywhere in Europe but some hidden gems among them. Easy access to cafes, restaurants. Requires a good pair of walking shoes as a lot of walking to be done but if you like shopping this will suit you just make sure you have plenty of room in your... More

During our visit this time we've walked up and down this street so many times, looking in and out of the shops, enjoy both ends of the spectrum between high-street and the designer. And also it's been great for stopping off for food and for coffee

Berlin's Broadway or Champs Elysses, the best street for shoppes and restaurants through center ville. Many other attractions also including museums, churchs and arcades. Sit at a outdoor cafe and people watch or just a coffee or bier.

Staying in Charlottenburg

Neighbourhood Profile
Charlottenburg
Breathe in Berlin’s royal past while walking through the gardens of beautiful Charlottenburg Palace, which lends its name to this well-heeled neighbourhood. Here you'll find some of the oldest homes in the city: upper-class apartment buildings with ornate facades and marble-floored foyers line the cobblestone streets. Stroll by sophisticated restaurants, through little parks, or around Lake Lietzensee. Window shop down Kurfürstendamm, the most renowned high-end shopping street in Berlin, where you can find all the big designer names. In the evening, visit one of the old theatres close by Zoo Station which were nightlife hot spots in the 1920s, or dine in one of the many international restaurants around Savignyplatz before heading to other parts of town for a night out.
