The good: It's a very nice neighbourhood pub and was completely full when we arrived (Saturday night around 10pm). Staff were very nice and helpful. The bad: Beer prices were slightly inflated (compared to other similar pubs). The place has a low-key (almost quiet) atmosphere, filled with couples and friends that get together to talk. Overall a decent place to... More

Very nice neighborhood bar, quiet and pleasant music, small choice of good wines and variety of the standard drinks. All drinks reasonably priced. Haven't tried but any but they serve also breakfast, soups and few light snacks. Very nice place to relax while strolling around in the Mitte/Scheunenviertel. Don't miss it while there. And... The beers are €3.00 for a... More

A really layed back place on a small street. No fancy stuff, just good music, nice people and relaxed atmosphere.

At the entrance you will notice an impressive brass bar that almost fills the room. But is gies downhill from there. Beers for 4 euros and a boring menu and ppl who want to keep for themselves. More like a caffe who serves alcohol.

The night we came there were quite a few drinks not available - apparently there was no time to make cocktails either - also of issue was the fact there was either no change available or offered when paying, without any prior warning.

Nice little bar.. Cosy.. Barman is welcoming.. Music is nice and eclectic. It's got a nice mix of people and ages but it's fairly laid back and a place I felt at home in.

a stylish, authentic cafe bar on one of the most interesting streets of the city "center". opens at 10:00 for coffee and always home made cakes, offers a couple of simple snuck options till eight and turns into a smoker bar after nine.

Staying in Mitte

Neighbourhood Profile
The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighbourhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
