Only stopped here for 10 mins as part of a tour, but the place just gets to you. The power of the history of the place. There are gaps that look across to the 'West'. Intend going back to walk the length of what's there. Amazing.

The best attraction in Berlin. Something like 1 mile of beautiful and meaningful paintings on the piece of the Berlin wall including the famous Kissing Brezhnev and Honecker (this very painting is on the far side from the ostbahnhof)

A painful reminder of the division of the country, yet a wonderful example of the hope for the future. Loved the artistry!

Took time off the hop on hop off bus to walk the length of this attraction. It was worth the time and effort. Nice little cafe near the start provided a tasty lunch. Lots of photos taken, the best from the median atrip in the middle of the road.

A really interesting piece of history. I’m not sure how busy it gets during the day, but I recommend visiting early morning if you can - we were there between 9 - 10am & there were only a few tourists around, so we were able to take our time walking along the wall, looking at the artwork & taking great... I visited here last week and this was my 3rd time. It's a nearly 1 mile stretch of the wall that has ever changing paintings on it. Sadly there was lots of metal fencing in front of large portions of the newer paintings, I presume to protect them. Just kind of ruins your photos. Every time I'm here new development... More

It is worth making the journey to view the Berlin Wall art. Sadly there are barriers up against it so you can't take the best photos but still worthwhile. Nice little cafe en route from the rain station - very good food and coffee.

It's quite a lengthy piece of old 'Mauer': walking along all the 'panels' takes at least half an hour. And as it's quite an open area, I can only advise to wait for a sunny day. When we were there it was bitterly cold, well below freezing. It is something you should have seen and there are some really good... More

Staying in Friedrichshain

Neighbourhood Profile
Friedrichshain
When you arrive at Warschauer Strasse in the heart of the district, you have found one of Berlin’s party hotspots. At night in Friedrichshain, the energy is palpable and the streets of this old worker's quarter are full of street musicians. On one hand, you may find a bar with international crowds, electronic music, long lines and panoramic views - on the other, an outside venue by old train yards featuring decrepit buildings and live alternative music. No matter your taste, the best way to end a night out in Friedrichshain is sitting by the Spree River at the East side gallery, the longest and best preserved piece of the Berlin Wall, watching the sun rise over the beautiful Oberbaum Bridge.
