This green park right in the heart of Berlin is a perfect pathway from Spandau to Mitte or the city centre to the Reichstag. It's safe, clean, open and beautifully kept and easy to navigate and also encourages you to walk and discover its monuments and other secrets.

You could spend days wandering around the Tiergarten and looking at the various memorials (Soviet War, Victory Column and more). Great place to get away and enjoy the green of nature.

Very big park in the middle of the city. Could easily take up to 1 full day to walk around and see everything there is to see. Famous spots aswell among locals to stop and have a beer or two at the beergarten or just enjoy the sun relaxing in the so many green spots.

Coming from the New York area, we couldn't help but compare the Tiergarten to Central Park. In many ways the two are similar, especially with respect to offering the opportunity to enjoy the outdoors and find some time for contemplation in a large and busy city. If by chance you are a birdwatcher you can do very well in the... More

I love to go hear fro walks, exercise, a beer, and relaxation. Their is a great and quaint Italian bistro with indoor fire places or out door curling lanes close to Neu Sea.

When in Berlin, specially in the summer make sure to visit Tiergarten...and one of the Biergartens! Just grab a beer, eat some great food and enjoy a great time either with your family or friends or just people watching!

Walking through the Biergarten was like entering lush verdant surroundings bringing a feeling of peace and excitement, as there were so many things to see. For starters the flowers and the arbours and the trees, and the lily ponds. Then the centre with had big lawns with sculptures by famous sculptors all the way down, of hunting scenes and others.... I had plenty of time to kill during my first few hours in Berlin, whilst I was waiting for my family's flight to arrive, so I thought I'd take a walk around the park since it was close to my hotel. The park is so huge you could spend hours and hours. There are lovely monuments and statues dotted all... More

Staying in Charlottenburg

Neighbourhood Profile
Breathe in Berlin’s royal past while walking through the gardens of beautiful Charlottenburg Palace, which lends its name to this well-heeled neighbourhood. Here you'll find some of the oldest homes in the city: upper-class apartment buildings with ornate facades and marble-floored foyers line the cobblestone streets. Stroll by sophisticated restaurants, through little parks, or around Lake Lietzensee. Window shop down Kurfürstendamm, the most renowned high-end shopping street in Berlin, where you can find all the big designer names. In the evening, visit one of the old theatres close by Zoo Station which were nightlife hot spots in the 1920s, or dine in one of the many international restaurants around Savignyplatz before heading to other parts of town for a night out.
