The sculpture by Frank Meisler of 'Children on Train to Death and Children on Train to life' depicts, two sets of children. They share one platform back to back. The fortunate few children proceeding to life, are the Jewish children known as the Kindertransport, who were fortunate to be accepted as refugees in England. The other grouping represents the hundreds of thousands of Jewsih Children transported to death.

Our hotel was just across the road from this statue situated outside Friedrichstrasse station so passed it many times. It is a lovely well cast monument and it is easy to guess what it stands for. Very moving.

Came across this quite by accident but stood looking at it for ages The tragedy and horror the children suffered alongside the good fortune of those who were Kinder children (and I knew one such lady who came to Ireland) Visit and remember!!

At Friedrichstrasse train station they have a memorial for the kinder transport and for the kids who were sent to the camps. I know a woman who was sent by her parents with her sister and that's how they were saved
