The Large House in Wansee a place of villainy and hatred toward any thought by the Nazi Party to warrant death The guides are very frank and not at all evasive regarding the outrageous evil planned in this place It is hard to imagine the callous inhumanity of planning out the decimation of European Jewry You will learn the brutal... I had a chance to visit friends who decided to live there and I was enchanted by the peaceful and natural beauty of the surroundings so close to the center of town. The lake is huge and offers beaches and trails to walk or bicycle around. You can also row a canoe or take a boat to peacock island which... More

Wannsee is a nice lake and there are a variety of ferries bars and so on in the area. I view it as part of a visit to the Liebermann Villa, Haus am Wannswee etc, not sure its worth going just to look at the water alone. Instead Id suggest Schlachtensee or one of the others in the area.

Easy train ride from Anhalter Bahnhof in Berlin. I walked along the shore and then road from the Wansee Station to the Wannsee Conference House. It was a pleasant walk, in great part because the weather was good. If the weather was poor, a bus available. There are some attractive villas, and some small homes along the road. A nice... More

I went on a sunny and hot Thursday afternoon, very crowded (even on a Thursday) but okay. However, the staff is more than horrible, never seen anything like this before! The short blond woman working at the entrance yelled at the clients.. Shocking!

You MUST take a boat ride around the lake! Massive mansions with lakeside shores attached to them and are only viewable by boat. Pay 11 Euros and travel 2 hours around the beaches for must see views. There are also bathing beaches located nearby. From Berlin, pay 7.60 Euro daily (all included public transportation rate). Easy access by S7 train... More
