Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The tour was good, guide was a beginner - it took almost 4 hours instead of 3.
The explanations were interesting but when we came back - at 20:45 (instead of 20:00) we had to lift the kayaks by ourselves toe the truck. Not every one in the team was strong enough to lift a 100kg kayak and some of us had to do it twice (I was on of the lucky "volunteers").
The guide hold everyone as hostages - we couldn't get our bags back - till all kayaks were returned.
I expect a company that charge 33 euros for a guided tour to keep someone helping the guide arrange all the equipment. after 8 km rowing in the river - you are not supposed to do this job.

Our guide Andreas was super knowledgeable and obviously passionate about his adopted city, an infectious attitude which is the best quality to have as a guide. So much fun and the best way to see the city. We even had an extra hour! Highly recommended and will be back!

We went on a 3 hour kayak tour in east Berlin. Our guide Hanna was wonderful. She taught us how to use the kayak before we went on the water. She stopped many times telling us about our surroundings and stories from the past. There was a heatwave so she maid sure rhat everybody had a lot of water and checked regularly how everyone was doing in the heat. We felt very safe with her. 3 hours were very quick to pass! We defenetly recommend!

My friend and I booked the night tour in August (6-8pm). It was fun- the views were spectacular. But I certainly wouldn’t say it was a tour. The guy who took our group was very sweet but very quiet- I couldn’t tell you his name- and gave us a ten minute talk at the half way point and a five minute talk a bit further on. It would have been great to know what areas we were kayaking through at the time. If you see this as kayaking rather than a tour, you’ll be fine!

The kayak tour I did follows the channels in the west side of the city passing through scenographic woods, bridges and weirs. It is an alternative way to discover Berlin and its story hopefully in a sunny day (as I luckily had). The efficient organization provides very stable double (recommended for beginners) or single kayaks. During the tour the guide gives useful information about the trip itself and the surrounding environment. The cost of the tour is definitely affordable.

We took the east side tour on a sunny afternoon. There were approximately 16 in our group (8 double kayaks). It was an enjoyable paddle up and back down the canal on a nice day but there wasn't much beyond that. Perhaps I am jaded as we kayak often in our local river and on a lake and always do a kayak tour when visiting a new city but this one was really unimpressive. The canal was lined with residential building and lots of locals. Paddling around the molecule man and by the " in river" swim pooling were the only exciting parts. The friendly guide did her best to give interesting commentary but there wasn't a lot to work from. Perhaps try the west side tour but we are going to pass - the double kayak were slow and for the cost were going to try some other modes of transport - on to biking!!

The website informs a price, but it does not mention that the price is per person.
See confirmation email:
"Tour name: Kayak Tour West (Return Tour 3 p.m. start Tiergarten Station), History and Urbanity 33 € / red. 27 €
Date: 28.08.2016, 15:00 - 18:30
Number of the participants: 2"
So, if it's for 2 persons, the amout should be 66 and not 33.
A shame! And they even treated me like I was the guilty one! Maybe (33€ is really cheap for two, but why not? why should I know that?), but the website is just a mess and the confirmation email speaks for itself.
And what does "red" mean? I found out upon my arrival that "red" means "discount/ermässigung" - so "red" can be understood also as "reduced/rediziert" which has another meaning by the way.

My wife and I have done kayak tours in cities all over the world and this one won’t be memorable. Information from the guide wasn’t awesome, the kayaks weren’t in great shape, the lifejacket wouldn’t even zip closed, and when the tour ended, we realized we wouldn’t do it again. Or recommend it. Blah.

The tour starts at Tiergarten, where you get a detailed explanation on how to paddle in a Kayak (many of these are for two people) and off we went, discovering Zoologischer Garten and the Tiergarten from the water. The very informative Kayak tour guides are very knowledgeable about the histrory of Berlin and we learned about the capital's impressive water lock system. Our route went alone the underground line U1 which goes above ground for several kilometres. The tour was 9km long and took around 4 hours in total. The next time I would like to take the night tour with a Kayak ride through Kreuzberg and Neuköln with Kayak Berlin Tours.
