Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The Sophienkirche is particularly worth seeing due to the only surviving Baroque church tower in Berlin. Martin Luther King preached in this church on September 13, 1964. There is currently a very informative and rewarding exhibition on this subject in the church.

A friend took us here, in part it is an attractive example of north German baroque but also because it has a history of caring. From 1942 to 1945 it tried the serve Russian and Ukrainian prisoners of war who were being used as slave labour in nearby industries. In 1965 it gave Martin Luther King an opportunity to speak. A nice, peaceful space.

I visited the Sophia Church in September 2018. It is one of several sights to see in the Hackescher Markt area including the New Synagogue and the Kennedy Museum. It is a nice photo op.

If you visit the famous Hackesche Markt or in near by area and hearing church bell, it may come from this beautiful church. Located pretty near from Hackesche Markt, in a silence side street where St. Hedwig Hospital is, made this place is one of quiet place from Berlin - Mitte. When you tired of Berliner hectic tourism crowd, this one can be alternative place to visit, just remember that this is also an active church, so it may closed sometimes for service. The architecture is very nice with finest Baroque style.

Martin Luther King gave a historic speech here. There is also a nice green area around the church. The inside of the church itself is bit in need of care. However, there are concerts (price is 9 euros) that might be worth checking out.
