During our short trip to Berlin while visiting some galeries we decided to have a late dinner and It was a little hard to find reataurants open after 10p when we came across this one. People were very friendly and the food was great. We had a typical german meal and we enjoyed it very much. Great option while visiting... More

A welcome rest break from an afternoon of sightseeing. Coffee, and wines appeared in a timely manner. The service were attentive and helpful. Quite an old fashioned style but cosy.

Nice cafe with good cake and service but felt a little over priced but probably due to location. We had the strudel.

Decided to go for traditional schnytzel - It was 17Euro (small option on the menu). The food was absolutely amazing and the portion size definitely wasn't small . Unfortunately, a big, big let down was the service. I dont remember last time i experienced such a bad customer service. I would recommend going there but would advise to ask for... More

We are the group of 7 people, we came to the restaurant on Sunday at 6pm, the restaurant was half empty and we got a perfect table. All of us liked the food, I ordered a chilled cucumber soup and it was delicious. My son ordered a schnitzel and it was huge and tasty. The service was fast and the... More

In my case i was not in this one but the one in the Berlin train station. That day was hot (above 25 degrees) and they have the announce at the door from the ice coffee, however when you asked for it they unfortunately couldnt serve it becasue the ice machine was broken, so in 15 minutes i saw 2... Café Einstein was surely my favourite Café during my visit to Berlin. Offering delicious snacks and deserts. If you visit this restaurant do leave some space for their apple strudel. Be prepared that during lunch time it is very busy and you may need to wait to be given a table. When I looked on the internet on my return... More

Staying in Mitte

Neighbourhood Profile
Mitte
The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighbourhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
