We stopped in here for some cocktails after a busy morning in the snow. Firstly I asked very politely if they made porn star martinis -(my favourite) she just shook her head and pointed to the menu. So I choose something else. The cocktails were delicious and would recommend coming here for drinks - quirky decor on the walls and... More

As in previous years, we visited this bar every night of our stay so it is safe to say we would highly recommend it as a cocktail bar ( although they do serve beer as well ). There was a fantastic range of cocktails served consistently during our visits and the old world charm of the bar added to the... More

We found out this place way to our hotel, they have like 1,000,000 drinks, very good music that make you feel you are partying but you can just relax yourself, great environment, decoration, quite expensive but worth it.

Great decor, great drinks, but terrible staff. If you want to be treated nice, go somewhere else. We spent quite a bit today, but not at Newton Bar. We were the only people in the bar and we were made to feel very unwelcome.

We visited on the Saturday night of our break in Berlin. This cool cocktail bar was not far from our hotel. It was perfect! The staff were brilliant and very helpful. The waitress regularly came round to check if we needed another drink. It was a far cry from the restaurant next door (maredo) where we had dined and had... More

Me and my girlfriend attended this cocktail bar on our last night in Berlin. It was fantastic. From it's decor, to the quality of the drinks, up to the service is all exquisite. Along with the music it just makes it. Brilliant atmosphere, very buzzy. The only downside is there was no dance floor which would make it a fair... More

Staying in Mitte

Neighbourhood Profile
Mitte
The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighbourhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
