Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I am really into WWII history and every time I asked a question to Xavier, he knew the answer. Xavier is not just a great tour guide, but a scholar on Berlin history. He also has a great sense of humor! Thank you Xavier. It was a real pleasure to meet you.

It all started when we arrived at the meeting point with a reservation for a portuguese tour and there were only spanish ones. We received many emails as reminders of our reservation for this tour, but never received the information that there weren't any portuguese guides available. We did the tour anyway, but before it started we were reminded by a different guide that in the end we should give some symbolic payment to support the company. I've done FREE Walking Tours like this one before, I knew that it was a common thing to do, and agreed with him, in the end we would give some amount, even if he hadn't point it out.
The tour itself was really nice and interesting, the guide was very kind, he speaked slowly so we could understand, and was always available to answer any questions.
But in the end, he pushed us to really pay for the "free" tour, he even ended the tour right in front of an ATM. He demanded not the symbolic amount of money of our choice, but a minimum of 3€ per person. He explain that in the end he would have to pay to his boss/company 3€ per person that took his tour. So he wouldn't really have any profit for himself. We didn't have any cash besides a 10€ bill, and some coins. Initially we were going to give him all the coins that we had but he continued pressuring us, reminding us that we had a ATM just behind us, that we could withdraw the payment. As he saw the 10€ bill in my boyfriend's wallet he told us that that amount would be fare and enough.
We ended up paying 5€ per person, on a supposedly FREE Tour, that wasn't even on the language that we BOOKED IN ADVANCE.
The tour might be worth the 5€, but the way that we were fooled and forced to pay on something announced as FREE, just completely ruined it!

Tour is really complete spending 6 hours in the camp including travel time from Berlin Central Station. Luca, the guide, provided us with interesting insights and anecdotes always being respectful about the surroundings. He also supported us finding the right train in the way back. A must do tour!

We think it was great and our tour guide Cesar was brilliant because he new everything about Berlin with all of his German knowledge from a different prospective that we got taught in school. Without being German he was a English tour guide that was was fluent in German and Spanish so he would answer any questions you asked him .If you didn’t have a tour guide like him there is no way you would have seen the parts of Berlin that he showed us when we came to Berlin 😍

What a fantastic tour. Booked the night before through WhatsApp. Meet outside the train station. Directions made it easy to find. Met our group which was very small. We had different nationalities in the group (Irish and an English guy). This was no problem and by the end Xavier had us all friends. The tour was great and very taliored to our groups wants/needs. Xavier made the day fun and packed of local knowledge. He went with our pace and was very patient with us all. He explained everything in great depth and welcomed questions. He made the day what it was. Thank you Xavier. Please do this tour, you won’t regret it. It was the highlight of my trip to Berlin! It is the best way to see all the sights and understand their significance.

The four of us went on a guided walking tour through Berlin. Our guide was a nice young man called Artie. He showed us all the highlights of the city and we were amazed of all the background information he gave us. A very informative tour, which brought us to places we could never have found on our own.

I went with my family to follow this guided tour in spanish. The guide was Felipe. He was an amazing history teacher which made every story count, very fun and entertaining. He knows history very well, he is a philospphy major but manages to guide you through Berlin's history as the best history academic.
Thank you very much Felipe!! Regards from the venezuelan family!!

My partner and I were slightly sceptical about going on a guided tour as we usually prefer to do our own thing. However, the tour we did on Sat 30th March with Xavier was amazing. His knowledge, attention to detail, ability to bring things to life and general niceness can not be faulted. We would recommend booking the tour (look for the blue umbrellas in Washington platz (outside the main train station) Hopefully you will be joined by Xavier.
