Great tour and a perfect way to start a Berlin trip. It incorporates most of the major sights, and if you do it on the first day as we did, you'll tick plenty off your sightseeing list by 2pm freeing up some time on other days, and also find your bearings straight away. Very useful in such a diverse city... More

David was our guide for the 4 hour tour and the time went quickly. We had been worried about a 4 hour tour but it was so interesting and well paced that we didnt notice the time. Excellent tour.

I believe that this should be the first thing to do when you visit Berlin! You get to know the city and its history in depth. Then you can decide which places to visit. Phil was our guide. He was very nice, funny and has a deep knowledge of the history of Berlin. We totally recommend this tou!

Mike was superb in bringing alive a city that is rich in history. He did not concentrate solely on The Third Reich and The Cold War but he covered others aspects of Berlin's history, right back to its origins. Incredibly knowledgeable, very engaging and equally interesting, Mike made this this tour birth memoerable and well worth the money. Truly excellent.

This is a 'must do' tour for anyone visiting Berlin. We had a fantastic, knowledgeable and enthusiastic guide called JJ, who's mum Caroline should be proud to know that his history degree to the max. I could not praise the tour highly enough, a real bargain price too!

Great group tour, brilliant guide Taylor! I would recommend this tour to all. My wife and I with our 13 year old had a fascinating time - we learnt so much from Taylor and visited Checkpoint Charlie, the wall, museum island, the former Luftwaffe HQ, Topography of Terror, Holocaust Memorial and loads more..

We did the 4 hour tour with Dave and it was easily the best tour I've ever done. Do the tour early in your visit if possible as it will set up further exploration.

Staying in Charlottenburg

Neighbourhood Profile
Charlottenburg
Breathe in Berlin’s royal past while walking through the gardens of beautiful Charlottenburg Palace, which lends its name to this well-heeled neighbourhood. Here you'll find some of the oldest homes in the city: upper-class apartment buildings with ornate facades and marble-floored foyers line the cobblestone streets. Stroll by sophisticated restaurants, through little parks, or around Lake Lietzensee. Window shop down Kurfürstendamm, the most renowned high-end shopping street in Berlin, where you can find all the big designer names. In the evening, visit one of the old theatres close by Zoo Station which were nightlife hot spots in the 1920s, or dine in one of the many international restaurants around Savignyplatz before heading to other parts of town for a night out.
