Experience a Berlin cityscape that no longer exists - the Berlin Wall - in an 18 meter high rotunda at the historical Checkpoint Charlie. Immerse yourself in the monumental Panorama Installation from the vantage point of a 4-meter high visitors' platform - a perfect illusion of the history of this city. The Berlin artist Yadegar Asisi depicts life at and in the shadow of the Wall on a fictional autumn day in the 1980s on a 1:1 scale. He thus spectacularly brings the divided city to life for young and old alike. The Panorama experience is supplemented by a photo exhibition with over 100 photos of contemporary witnesses, which gives the visitor personal insights into the period of the Wall.

I think it's very impressive how the panorama helps to visualize the wall. You know a lot about the wall, but walking in Berlin, you try to imagine something, but the reality in the past, was beyond my imagine. Last time in Berlin, we thought...More

Waste of time and money. Ok if you want to waste €10 to use the toilet that’s it. There’s a load of pictures with commentary. A mock up of the Berlin Wall and viewing platform then a room with loads of graffiti ( help yourself...More

This gem completed a trip to Berlin and was the most moving and emotional insight into understanding the Berlin Wall. Out of many museums and tourist spots, this apparently simple but very deep artwork really gave a feeling of the wall like nothing else can...More

This is one of the very best works of public history/art I've ever seen. I'm used to the usual American "roadside attraction", which is typically pretty lame. THIS is magnificent. In the anteroom is a big wall (everything is painted gray, with graffiti, by the...More

If your interested in the wall then it's a must. Lots of photos inside with people's accounts and then the panoramic picture of life with the wall.

This was one of the best finds during my stay. It provided great information in German and English about history in Germany but even about Postdamner Platz. It had a great cafe with very relaxing music and a little food with a great view! It...More

We went not really knowing what to expect. If you can, do a guided tour, that way you'll get so much from it. The actual wall is amazing and it's hard to believe your not actually looking at a real photograph.

We’d been to see one of Yadegar Asisi’s other panoramas in Rouen earlier this year, so were interested to experience this one. The pre-exhibition was shorter than Rouen’s, but interesting enough with photographs of life on either side of the Berlin Wall, before you enter...More

This is my favorite place to go in Berlin. Even with the cost being a bit high I go in every time I'm in the city. I truly love this exhibit. I find it moving. It's also been the best teaching tool about that historical...More

The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights
like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum
Island. The central location makes this one of the
city's most expensive places to live. It is here the
oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence
of some significant transformations, as well. The
gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets
between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given
