Nice medium size zoo

Really cool place to see polar bears, penguins and marine life. Right at the ocean. Well cared and not crowded

The zoo has an adequate size and a variety of animals. Big and small, warm- and cold blooded, fish, birds, just everything. The general theme seems to be "animals of the far north and south", so don't expect lions and elephants but rather polar bears and sea lions. They somehow got chimpanzees though. The zoo is great for kids and... More

This is a very nice zoo, not to be missed when you visit Bremenhaven. My husband, our little daughter and I spent there great three hours seeing animals of the world (mostly sea animals) in a well kept habitat for the animals. This is not a big zoo, a couple of hours is enough to get well acquainted with all... More

This was a laid-back, relaxing zoo located right on the water. We were on a tight schedule, so this zoo was just perfect for us. We were in and out in an hour, including a visit to the zoo shop, so I think it is ideal for people with little kids who can't handle bigger zoos or people rewarding their... More

Look for Lili, the polar bear baby. Also ideal to educate your kids on environment protection and fishing.

I like the zoo in Bremerhaven. It's very small but still interesting. My last visit a few weeks ago was to see Lily, the new baby polar bear. What a beautiful cub!.

Firstly, do not expect something on the scale of London, Berlin or even Bristol zoo. This is a very specialist zoo and is within a very small footprint. We came as my wife was visiting Bremen and I wanted to take her somewhere different. This is a very compact place but with a decent selection of animals. The Highlights have... More

There are some nice stories to tell about this zoo, for example about the gay penguins and how the people complained when the zoo tried to get them some girls from Sweden. And so this zoo became famous for its gay penguins. The big glass around the penguin area allows you to see how they swim underwater which is always... More

This is a small zoo with fairly small enclosures. We saw a polar bear, sea lions, penguins, other aquatic animals, and a few non-aquatic animals. There is a path to follow so you see all of the animals. We were there on a windy, freezing cold day (not recommended).
