I drove to Bremerhaven for the UBoat- But it was closed - very disappointing - it was poorly advertised in the guide book

Visited museum end of season, almost no tourists. Young people can learn a lot how tight and different it is in a u boot. This one is 100 times better than the U Boot in Pearl Harbour. Right next door is sailboats and the indoor museum. Spend all day here. Admission is cheap compare to American museums.

Once you are in the port city of Bremerhaven you must visit this floating museum to get a feel of this maritime city. It is one of its kind and the whole ambience surrounding this museum is nice. Many other attractions are just a walk away. It is of a great amusement to kids.

It was very interesting to see this "modern" submarine from the end of WWII. The staff had a very big knowledge and was very interested in telling af lot of things.

You can enter true U-boat and experience how people lived and worked there in lack of space, when every centimeter is used. There's also some historical information and photos in every part. All in all, that's quite interesting experience, I would recommend it to everyone interested in marine, machines and simply "big iron rigs" :)

Fascinating "time travel": You can see and even feel how it is to be a submarine sailor during World War II. Original interior of a German U-boot in perfect condition. Please note that this attraction is definitely not disabled friendly because of the very narrow watertight doors.

Walk through from stern to bow of a U-Boat. Pretty neat to see how tightly packed those guys were and all the pipes and engines and whatnot. You got to swing through little round doors between each section and that's also cool, I felt like an adventurer.

The overall impression was awe that men would commit to going down in these things whatever side you were on.

So it's (another) u-boat. There are quite a few and I think you need to already be quite a u-boat aficionado to really understand what makes this boat different. So, let's say you're not, like a 9-year old isn't. What's left? A very nice u-boat visit indeed. But most of this boats uniqueness and quite a lot of the very... More

Visiting the Wilhelm Bauer is diving into history. You'll experience the intimate feeling of being in a WW2 submarine, seeing how tight the space was to operate this war machine. Everything in this submarine is to see, from the cabins, to the torpedo ramps, as well as the engines, with plenty of dials and valves. The submarine has undergone a... More
