Worth a wander or bike or run through while you're in Potsdam

What a lovely park to run around. We actually biked, but most people were running. There's a lot to explore and a lot beautiful castle-like places to see and quiet to enjoy.

The castle itself is undergoing interior renovation, so isn't open, however the outside has received a thorough refresh, and looks fabulous. The gently rolling grounds are well maintained without feeling too sterile and there are plentiful features to explore along wide gravel trails suitable for (slow) cycling or strolling. They open up views across the rivers and canals to Glienicke... More

Great for escaping the city and still be central. I enjoy this park a lot because it doesn't come across as man-made as Sanssouci does. It seems more wild and is great for getting some peace. In summer there is also the chance of having a bath in the water and many locals go there, too.

Babelsberg Park is a fairly short walk from Babelsberg S-bahn station and is a good place to head on a Sunday for a walk. In the old West Berlin you can see the Glienicke Bridge/Bridge of Spies across the lake, as well as take in the Flatowturm (which looks as if Rapunzel could have let down her hair from it),... More

A very nice and so far not that much crowded parks in Potsdam. Beside the striking Flatow tower you'll find a lot of nice buidlings, some of them still under restoration. There's a levy to board one of the excursion ships or the regular Water Taxi service.

For those who were disappointed with the lack of "attractions" all I can say is that it's not a fun park. The view across to the glinicker bridge(spy bridge) is worth the trip alone, to sit and take in the views. and reflect on the history is always a pleasure.. Apart from that there are many buildings worth seeing, the... More

good for families, lots of places to access the lake and swim, nice walk to the Bridge where spies were exchanged, it is longer than via the main road but much nicer to walk through the park

I visited this park a few weeks ago having read about it on here and a couple of other sites. I expected a pleasant park with a number of attractive or appealing old buildings/monuments, as well as some great views. My expectations were slightly let down though I wouldn't advise anybody against going here; I would just advise them that... More

At our hotel we did rent a bike and then hit the road to experience the Babelsberg Park. The weather was excellent and it was nice to see spring coming out in this area. We loved it, with the nice paths to cycle (or walk) and the beautyful surrounding around the lake. The small castle (kleines Schloss) with its terrace... More
