Potsdam is a great day trip from Berlin and a chance to see Prussian history. As others noted Sanssouci is not huge but found it very interesting. The audio guides are well done--not too long. We went on a Wednesday afternoon and got an entry...More

We took the RE1 from Alexander Platz to the Sanssouci Park stop and took a walk through the very large and beautiful park. This park can be explored for hours. There's a lot of great 18th century architecture scattered throughout. Once we got to the...More

A comparatively small Palace by European standards, but one that has magnificent gardens and offers comprehensive tours of the rooms. The gardens are worth the visit by themselves, let alone the palace.

Potsdam is about 1-1.5 hours from Berlin and easy to get to by train. From Potsdam Hbf there is a bus that will take you directly to Schloss Sanssouci. We didn't book in advance and we still managed to get in easily. It shows how...More

Sanssouci was the summer residence of the Prussian kings and was built in Rococo style. it is surrounded by a huge park beautifully landscaped. A guided tour is highly recommended. There is so much to see!

The tour of the palace was well explained and showed the absolutely fabulous rooms. Now wonder the palace has been on display to the public for over a hundred years.

Really beautiful. We visited the gardens as well and it was magnificent. The grave of Frederick the Great was also located there, with potatoes on the grave.

This is a huge palace. The gardens and courtyard entry are amazing in their scope and extreme architecture. The limited rooms available for viewing were exquisite but I felt the value for the limited viewing areas was not as expected.

If you have not purchased your tickets beforehand, it’s probably a smart move to buy them before exploring the Park more widely since entry is limited to relatively small groups at specific times. Once inside, you have plenty of time to take in the very...More

Easter is a big deal in Germany, they could be closed. But then a lot of people have holiday then and it would make sense for them to be open. The only way you will know for sure is to email them.
