Seriously, if you have any inner kid that loves model trains, then this is heaven right here. No need to go anywhere else. It was overwhelmingly cool and I could have stayed way more hours here (my wife, otoh, clearly has no such inner kid).

We had seen Al Murray and Michael Portillo's TV programmes where they visited MW, and knew we had to go one day. As we were in Germany we made a special pilgrimage from the Black Forest right up to the north to see it. It did not disappoint. It's not that we are particular rail enthusiasts, it's just great for... More

A most fascinating model railway exhibition the likes I have never seen before. Absolutely mind-blowing with all the details such as moving cars with lights, airplanes taking of and landing, fire engines racing to an incident and returning to base. Words just cannot describe what can be seen here. It is advisable to book an entry on their website to... More

We took U3 and alight at Baumwall. Follow the signs and walked in the direction of Hamburg Dungeeon. We reach the place before 9:30am, climbed up the stairs to the second floor and when the ticket counter open, we just had to queue for a mere 5 minutes. After being issued tickets, we started our tour. At the second floor,... More

Like everyone who has posted previously, this attraction is just fantastic. We spent around four hours there and enjoyed every minute of it. The detail is quite unbelievable, I loved the airport and port of Hamburg the most. This is definitely a place to visit as adults on your own too!

An utterly mind-blowing miniature exhibition. From the second you enter it's like you're being transported to another country, with the separate displays being lifelike to a greater degree than anything I've previously experienced. The whole system is a marvel of engineering, even extending to the little tunnels the trains use to get between separate areas. The "Knuffingen" airport is just... More

Be prepared to spend 3-4h there, if you really enjoy modelling trains. It is also nice if you have kids. A good idea is to either buy the ticket online, and avoid the queue, or book it, and get it once you arrive at the site. If you book both at the beginning of the day, or at the end,... More

I read online that this is one of the top things to do in Hamburg, and I was pleasantly surprised! It was great value (€9,00) for students and you could spend as long as you liked in the museum. The exhibitions were fantastic and fit for all ages

Excellent day out. Really good minatute worlds. Fantastic for children with the IDD bit of adult humour scattered about in the minatute villages (ladies of the night and murder scenes)
