Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

An extremely large structure vandalised by spray cans which detracts. But, it doesn't yield its double life on a visit. During the war the block work was a bunker for 650 persons but there is no information available on site. There is one solitary metal door evident. A fenced tennis court covers the rear aspect. A workman was removing graffiti when we visited.

This monument stands in tribute to Otto von Bismark, the Prussian statesman who engineered the unification of the desperate German states into the German Empire.

This monument is a sculpture of truly monumental proportions at 35 metres high, it’s the world's largest Bismarck monument. The sculpture depicts Bismark standing upright, almost at attention. He is holding a sword with the point resting on the ground and both his hands are holding onto the handle of the sword.

It’s a pity the monument is defaced graffiti.

Very large and impressive monument to Otto Von Bismarck but completely neglected, covered in graffiti and partly fenced off. I read somewhere that Hamburg is Germany's most prosperous city, so why don't they clean this up? The statue is very close to St. Michael's Church.

A pity about the graffiti and the rubbish.
On our most recent visit (July 2015) there was a goat-like figure on Bismarck's head. Wonder why??

Bismarckdenkmal is the monument of Bismarck located in the city of Hamburg. It is one of the largest monuments dedicated to him. It is incredible and very big, and it is located in a park, so the whole is very beautiful. Pitifully the monument is too dirty and they have a lot of graffitis. It is not well-preserved.

This statue is phenomenal - it can be seen for many miles around even with the high-rise buildings.

It dominates the landscape - perhaps not as much as it once did but nonetheless it is stunning.

But perhaps currently the local people do not care for their history as the monument is badly in need of a clean - it is covered in graffiti all round the base. Such a shame for such a hugely important figure.

This is an impressive statue, but has been poorly neglected, the area around it is litter strewn and the statue base covered in graffiti, please give it some care and attention

This monument kinda describes most of the city of Hamburg. The statue's base is covered in ugly graffiti, lots of broken glass from beer bottles (both party- and homeless people are to blame) and no real background describing the statue.

The city of Hamburg has a littering/graffiti problem and doesn't seem to care much about it. Very sad actually..

This memorial is walking distance from Landungsbrucken (up hill). The area leaves a lot to be desired with broken glass, weeds and worst of all graffiti all around the bottom half of this monument. I get the feeling it would be all over it if they could reach. Who in there right mind defaces something like this and why has Hamburg not done more to prevent the graffiti. Very sad to see so much graffiti.

This huge monument is in a small park in the vincinity of Landungsbrücken. Unfortunately it is full with graffities and even this is a big memorial it doesn't attract anyone.
