Hamburg was never on my list of places I wanted to visit however when flights were £20 return I couldn't say no. Went for Valentine's Day and there's some gorgeous sights but this town hall was my favourite by far. So much detail and you notice more and more the longer you stare at it. It is also a good... I visited TownHall multiple times during my stay in Hamburg and as like other European cities, there is always something going on in the weekends. Otherwise also this is a nice place for hangout.

The Hamburg town hall is a grand old building - taller than Big Ben in London! It's impressive in size and design, and you can go in for a look as well and learn a bit about the history of Hamburg. The area around it is nice for a walk as well.

As the title states this is an absolutely beautiful building. Very busy inside. We didn't take the paid tour of the building but rather strolled around inside and around the court yard. There was a cafe inside although we did not use this facility.

Great place, beautiful architecture in the shopping area! Great restaurant too! And in spite of the cold we enjoyed a beautiful outside show with people in costumes and masks.

We were cruising and had been dropped off at Hamburg port, where we were then taken and dropped off just near the Town Hall. We wanted our trip to be spontaneous rather than planned so were happy to go with the flow. It was Sunday and everything was closed so we had time to take a good look around the... More

Beautiful building (the town hall) and very large, set by the huge lake in the middle of the city. Its well worth a visit as there is always something going on in the square.

The town hall of Hamburg is visually very impressive, we were there on a very cold and overcast day but this did not detract from the visual effect. Nearby (to the right of the square as you are facing the Rathaus) is a WW1 memorial to the forty thousand sons of the city who gave up their lives during the... More

Amazing architecture but would benefited from having English writing inside, alongside the German, to explain its history.
