Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Good for shopping, nothing exceptional here, buzzing with people and bags, rather upmarket shopping, fine to have a coffee.

we took this street on our way back from the Planten and blomen park back to the city hall. the street is attractive, some of it traffic free, but nothing special in terms of shopping- small shops for skinny rich ladies and some designer household goods.

This is a vibrant, upmarket shopping street, with lots of people and cafes. The architecture is worth seeing, and it's just a generally pleasant place to walk around even if you're not buying anything.

Colonnaden is a typical shopping street located in a big occidental city, where you can buy all you need (and all you do not need too), eat or drink something or only walk and see the beautiful buildings. Average.

We briefly visited Colonnaden this morning which is adjacent to Binnenalster - the latter was the main reason we were in the neighborhood.
Colonnaden is very much an upmarket Street - the buildings look lovely in terms of architecture. There are several shops, cafes, etc and the place was quite lively despite the gloomy weather.

I watched people come out of stores and walk by happy with their purchases, as we sat and had coffee in one of the cafes at the arcade.
Expensive brands are in the stores. You can stroll through slowly and absorb the buzz of the place.

There are plenty of shops, restaurants and various local facilities. However, this felt not as the most important or interesting street in Hamburg, with one exception - one of the city's better Japanese restaurants - Matsumi!

A very nice street with old buildings and upscale-looking shops/restaurants. It’s very close to the Alster and the Gansemarkt.
