Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This used to be a warehouse district, but it has been reclaimed with an expansion of the harbor. So a new cruise ship terminal, new offices and hotels, and lots of places to eat and drink. Also a good place to stroll to admire the brick architecture.

Hafencity is the port city of Hamburg. A very well designed and even better maintained, you can just not miss its ambience and elegance. Better than other world-known port cities like Mumbai, Tokyo, Singapore, New York or London, you may feel spending more time just walking around and looking at the magnificent warehouses, eateries from the world over and an expansive view of Hamburg harbour.

Hamburg is one of the safest cities in the world and hence you would never have to worry about the time of the day, or which lane you are entering.

The harbour tour takes you to the same places from the canals and the small arterial roads take you to the same places from road. A fantastic experience for photography, history or just for spending some time for a small outing. This place is never going to disappoint you.

If you like, you can hop on the giant wheel, or take a tour of Maritime museum, or Miniature Wonderland and many other attractions around.

The city includes the old warehouse district as well as new developments along the old Harbor like the Elbphilharmonie concert hall. The area offers a striking contrast with old brick warehouses and modern glass fronted developments a short distance from each other. And the many canals add to the charm.

I don't know why some people suggest to come here. It is a dull and boring place compared to the rest of Hamburg. Not even the modern buildings are that nice.

If you find yourself here, stay in Speicherstadt only, but don't bother going to HafenCity unless you are into expensive hotels and restaurants.

An obvious visit looking through all recommendations of must-sees in Hamburg. We did not see the magic of the area with the main purpose being modern housing.

They really make this part of Hamburg worthwhile to visit, look at impressive architecture, visit restaurants, oor just walk around. Easy accessible by public transport or bike.

The HafenCity has been my favourite part of Hamburg.
It's very modern and it shows how the architects are pushing forward the landscape but maintening perfect harmony with the other areas of the city.

This is the new city in Hamburg but it did not disappoint. The Hamburg feel still there but modernized and more industrial feel. I stayed here for 4 nights and i enjoyed the area of security and so clean and not crowded bec there is not much touristy spots around here. The train station and a small park are just around the corner as well. Quite peaceful place to stay.

The HafenCity is a good place to explore on foot. I was there last week and discovered new areas. I especially liked the exhibition of photos of Iceland, because I was there for one week in April. The photos are super and really portray the atmosphere of the country.
