Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

During the Second World War, the entire historical city of Frankfurt (Altstadt) was destroyed.
Fortunaltely, many historical buildings were rebuilt in their original appearance, others were abstracted in the historical street pattern and interspersed with new contampary structures.
The area is definitely worth a visit and a walk, the highlight of which is the Römerberg.

We have transited Frankfurt several times but never stopped before. We did his time and enjoyed a morning walk on our last day. The old town is more extensive than we thought and the walk along the river is nice too.

This is a charming district with many wonderful sights that can be taken in including Romerberg, St Nicholas, St Leonard’s, and St Bartholomews churches. The buildings are particularly beautiful and original in design with many different colours and styles

It’s important to know at least a little of the history of the Neue Altstadt before walking around it, as it has taken a long time for it to happen.
As a tourist, it was wonderful for me to walk around this restored/rebuilt area & admire the architecture.

Its full renovation works have been completed a few years ago. It is really pleasant to make a stroll here and admire buildings, handcraft shops and sip a good coffee.

This is a nice place. Doesn't matter where you are in Frankfurt it's worth comming here. Although the whole place is a rebuild, it has a nice atmosphere. The area is not to big but take your time to strawl around.

This Alstadt area of Frankfurt was destroyed in WWII. This small area called Neue Alstadt (new) is a reconstruction meant to imitate the old buildings. There are apartments above with stores and shops on the first level. The streets are narrow and the buildings have the old style, it is quite pretty
