Discover Frankfurt and its region with a local pilot

1 review
See a perspective on Frankfurt that few other visitors experience—and enjoy a memorable way to explore the city—on a private flight. Pick between multiple convenient flight times, make your own way to the airport, and meet your pilot. Then take the skies: you’ll soar over the city’s major landmarks, will spot highlights like the Main River and Frankenstein Castle, and will learn more from your pilot’s commentary.

I used to be a regular at the Balalaika in its previous incarnation (opposite the Dreikoenigkirche) back in 1999 to 2001 before it moved to Schifferstrasse - Anita (the owner) used to sing and play until the early hours and any night could end up with a session (piano/.guitar etc) - fond memories - So glad to see John (Anita's son) has kept the place alive - not to be missed if you are in FFT

I frequented the Balalaika Bar (different location) back in 1969 - 1970 and it was always a lively place. This visit, it was completely empty save the bartender and a few of his friends. He was very accommodating, though, and our group had a great time with the bar to ourselves, so don't hesitate to stop by for a beer. The bartender said that the real action is in cooler weather. We visited in August, when a lot of folks seek a sidewalk bar/café, something the Balalaika lacks except for a single outdoor table (the bartender and his friends were using it, and it may be they just drug it outdoors for that evening). I can't recommend a special trip to get here, but if in the Sachsenhausen area when visiting Frankfurt, stop by and see what's going on. Better yet, if you've got talent, bring some friends and take advantage of the open mike.

Lovely bar introduced to us by friend. Atmosphere is just so relaxed and music played was great. We even had a chance to play guitar. Tanks for your hospitality. We hope you will have more people like us enjoying your lovely venue in relaxed atmosphere.

My fav Frankfurt hangout way back in the cheap Eurailpass backpacking days! For VD my partner gave me a selection of German beers, Spaten among them. All I drank at The Balailaika hence I Googled it, time tripped & wrote this. Should I find myself in Frankfurt again, this'll be my 1st 1/2 litre stop! Jerry
