If you visit Staatspark Karksaue give yourself a few hours to explore - unfortunately when we visited and took advantage of free parking on the east side it was raining, which did not allow us to fully explore the park as we headed across the park to the city centre seeking shelter and somewhere to eat! We did notice when... More

What an absolutely stunning park. This was an unexpected gem to find right in the centre of Kassel. If I lived there, I would be getting a dog, or taking up running, simply to have a reason to spend more time in the park. Beautiful.

Unlike the Bergpark at Kassel Wilhelmshohe this is a place where seniors can walk without having to climb a hilly place. There is a lovely chinese restaurant next to the park and the river Fulda is behind. An ideal place for nature lovers. Also females from India can walk here without being molested by gang rape supporters.

Its a big park located near the orangerie, its good to see once but i would always prefer the Bergpark over this one. Good if you have enough time to spend and combine with the orangerie.

Huge and beautiful park, now made even more interesting with the various artworks from documenta that are scattered throughout this baroque masterpiece. If you are short on time, rent a bicycle.

dOCUMENTA 13 makes you stroll in this lovely classical park with its great trees, fountains and reflecting pool. At each corner you discover mind provoking avant-garde installations as should be the case at dOCUMENTA. The glasshouse, a permanent feature, has a delightful small Thai-cuisine restaurant.

We went there for the documenta, which made it even more interesting. The park is a wonderful baroque garden and invites for a walk, followed by a drink in one of the nice cafes.

It's easy to get involved in the many sites at Documenta and forget the Park. But don't! Beyond the many many art pieces, the Park itself is a little gem, so large for a city the size of Kassel. Save some energy for the climb back up though!

Very large, very diverse and very beautiful. dOCUMENTA venues are scattered throughout the park this summer (2012).
